I was lucky enough to grow up in the Cotswolds, went to school in Chipping Norton - the highest town in Oxfordshire and a real snow magnet. Heaven :)

Lucky thing! Shame the snowy winters are no more though... even the Cotswolds seem to struggle these days

My folks have a house in Villa Rica, Georgia in the US, and it's far enough south to be comfortable all winter, but not today, even there they are getting 10" of snow today/tonight :wallbash:

Well I am not sure why I keep torturing myself by looking at mod thread.. so much opportunity from the 14th of January :sorry:

Just checked netweather generated forecast and it shows sleet/snow from Saturday afternoon! :wallbash:

It wouldn't surprise me if something wintry did fall from the skies on your hill next weekend.  You and the Beast on Dartmoor might get lucky.

So the gfs and the ecm both have stonking runs tonight.....until tomorrow. Yes I think the country is safe from over exposure in both senses!

Putting the dogs out tonight they weren't happy with the falling wet stuff. Figure they like the dry cooler environment too!

My cat has just been crouched down in the flower bed, watching the bottom of the shed - there's a nest of mice under it. He's absolutely soaked, but doesn't care a whisker!

Morning all, a balmy 6.8c here. Grey, damp and foggy, seems more autumn than the depths of winter.

I'll apologise now if I spout gibberish later....I'm off to hospital to have a tricky wisdom tooth removed, I'm to be given conscious sedation (which translates to drugs to make me la la) no idea how long it takes to wear off but I'm presuming it'll be like drinking lots. So, if I sound smashed later, it's because I probably still am. Ignore all reports of snow, it'll just be me day dreaming with the help of narcotics!

Here in the West Country there is 98% humidity and no wind which is translating to thick fog this morning, even down here in the village. Temperatures have risen 13C in 36 hours to stand at 9.9C currently. A murky old day likely too but at least the heavier rain of yesterday has passed. I see we are the only part of Europe not in the freezer this morning with some very impressive low temperatures over there. As for the future well the less said the better in my eyes. A chilly NW to North flow could give us a shot of Winter for a few days late in the week before any pressure rise is suppressed towards the South and SE bringing back milder West winds in Week 2. Any thaw in most of Europe looks unlikely until then when and if High pressure moves to our SE then even over there the cold could be pushed back towards Eastern Europe. That's a long way off though and open to change.

I wish I could do park run... instead, I'm running round taking one to football and the other horse riding  :nea:

And either my gin and tonic was contaminated last night or I have a bug because I feel utterly dire.

and it's back to miserable murky horribleness out there... can barely see out my windows... bring back the frost!!  :diablo:

yeah I'm in a great mood today lol! :yahoo:
