Okay..........What happened?     (keep it clean!)

1.9c/1,3c and windy in the sleety showers.

Decided to have an argument with a raised step at the back of my daughters gymnastics hall, I lost, tore my patella tendon, just waiting on surgery.

Proper snaw here a wee while ago, but it is so wet not a chance of anything lying. Ochils have a nice cover on the tops when you can see them.

Just horrid wet cold sleety rubbish coming down here at the moment. Not looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow.

That sounds painful Cheggers.   The fall sounds bad enough but to have to go through surgery as well is certainly adding to it.   Just keep thinking it could have been worse because  look at all the sledging your NOT missing!   Maybe alcohol over the festive would hopefully dull it a bit?:santa-emoji:

Chin up! (or is it leg up?) :D

Vile afternoon with constant showers. I think it's safe to say any dry spell is over (at least for now)

100 litres of -8c (20% vol) or 85 litres of -15c (30% vol) appropriately diluted. Should last a while. £38 from Amazon.

Indeed, but as stated booze and Dihydrocodine do dull the pain quite a bit.

Cold and wet seem to be the continuing theme up here.

Steady with the DHC - serious bunging effect, horror stories not fit for this forum...

Looks like we should be up to Vindaloo factor winds by breakfast time so batten down those hatches.

Just listened to D Bett talking about record high Xmas day temps - then in the next breath, possibly a white Xmas for Scotland :blink2:

It was quiet......too quiet. The calm before the proverbial? Had a couple of lightning strikes here later afternoon, nothing to write home about. Unlike Staffin in the north of Skye which has no landline or internet now due to a stonking lighting strike this morning! Baaaaad!

I was wondering why my dad was off to Bo'ness tomorrow for a Santa themed day with the grandchildren (not ours!) and was encouraging me to have a business meeting as way of wriggling out of it. I declined.

If you see a silver fox (70 years old on Xmas Eve) who looks like John Inman (ask someone who watched tv in the late 70's early 80's) and a combination of Steve Martin then say hello!:D:santa-emoji:

It's weirdly quiet out there at the moment. Cats even deigned to go outside this morning (last night they just looked at me like I was mad when I opened the door for them). Last day of work today then 12 days off for me :yahoo:

Just a moderate breeze here for now, should pick up this morning but not expecting anything particularly notable for Dundee/NE Fife. Still, have delayed my trip down south to see family until tomorrow. Combination of busy roads, high winds and driving in the dark doesn't appeal!

Last day of work for me too before 16 days off! :D

She's here! Been chapping at the door since about 6am and now she's giving it a guid thump! I fully expect the power to go off at some point today, so if I'm not back on here within the next few days, I hope everyone has a very happy Christmas! :drunk-emoji::santa-emoji::cold-emoji:

I have no idea what is going on at this point :drunk-emoji:

The Met Office has our part of the Borders covered by a warning today - the NetWeather HiRes NMM says it's going to be most windy around midday and then tails off a little bit.

The Met Office then has decided tomorrow isn't going to be too bad and the warning does not extend to our part of the Borders - but the NetWeather HiRes NMM has equally as string winds tomorrow morning for us as it does for midday today, and those wind speeds extend right through the night.

So at this point - I don't know if the HiRes NMM is going to be correct or the Met Office (but the Met Office have been guilty in the past of issuing a warning for one period and then not for another which is much windier and potentially more damaging than the period they did issue a warning for so........)

@CatchMyDrift any thoughts for our area?

This is the wind during the warning period: Netweather Extra.png

and outside the warning period: Netweather Extra-2.png

and right through Christmas Eve: Netweather Extra-3.png
