Lovely out there today. Sadly, another bore fest of a weekend coming up!

Still on the old/new beeb website stuff...

The old site still seems to be on the usual URL - https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/

image.thumb.png.89006d5c149bac3173868db0f56247f1.png

Stick a zero on the end of the URL and you get the new look - https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/0

(add the '0' manually if it redirects).

If pushed, I prefer the new one as the forecast for tomorrow is slightly better. :reindeer-emoji:

Thanks for this. Total piffle mind. Why would anyone believe in 14 days there is 25% chance of rain at 3pm is beyond me, unless of course it shows snow :wallbash:  I wonder if this is linked with the new contract with meteogroup. It does give different weather details at day 5 so wonder if there is a different provider?

Good god I'm such a weather geek, theres got to be more to life than this?! The weekend is coming up I heard someone say, Great stuff hope to get out and about wonder what the weather will be................no escape :)

Oh yeah. Scroll to the bottom of both to see the change.

The latter states...

Afternoon, had a quick look in the mad thread yesterday and saw mention of 1978 and the similarity with current synoptics so had a quick google....I'm not in anyway saying this may happen, but just imagine if it did :-)

Cheers! So who do meteogroup use for their weather model, GFS?

Sunny until mid afternoon when it clouded over. It actually felt quite cold once thebcloud came in.

The websites says...

'A combination of models such as real-time ECMWF, GFS and our large network of observation stations power our sophisticated forecasting model.'

which suggests to me...

'At 14 days out, we make it up'.

I know the potential interest showing in the models isn’t imminent but I’m surprised how quiet he MAD thread is at the moment. It’s safe to go in there by the way.

I think third time around most folks are well seasoned to being burnt, by Monday the excitement or the gloom will begin in earnest..

Can we have him back? Better than the current lot of mild rampers.

Not even viewing it... slim chance of cold and odds of sw getting snow even slimmer so no point. :nonono:

If the 18z control was to verify the chance of snow would be anything but slim.

If you want some amusement go back a page or so where someone posted ‘nationwide snow event’ with the SW under rain
