Actually liking the new bbc weather layout.
There is a nice video and faq about it all here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/about/42822208
It does need some work though, the full screen map is awkward and clunky to use and some of the icons like drizzle look more like sleet/snow.
Meteo is showing a very different forecast to the BBC met office one even in the short term.

Was expecting more rain today, its been dry all morning, but just gone very grey and drizzling here now, 8.9c.

Looking at the MAD thread there is some good discussion going on without too many folks being comments being moved to other threads.Having been an avid reader for many many years, I do find it interesting how so many people focus on the "here & now", and ignore the longer tern changes within the atmosphere, and I'm not shouting global warming as many people do not believe the current prognosis is correct. Having been around for a lot of years I have seen the climate change as many on this forum have. I'll say no more, that said it's been a naff day with that sort of rain that will ruin you day.  I've seen multitude of people heading for the cinema in an effort to provide some form of entertainment for the family. Personally we went out and got wet!

So today peaked @ 10.7C, and it's still climbing, rainfall @ 2.6mm not a huge amount just annoyingly wet, the wind picked around midday as expected (great for the windsurfers out in the harbour). On to tomorrow, hoping for some brighter spells to get out in the garden..

I see the mood in the MAD threads changed again. Some seem very eager to write anything off before it’s even started. :wallbash:

The UP'S & DOWN's of the MAD thread..it's really a place that can drive you nuts, should you let it. I drop in view the last 60mins and walk away, because everybody has their own view on life, what's going to be correct NOBODY knows( well as much as they think they do!):fool:

If it’s as good as your digging in the MAD thread it can’t be that bad.

I’m not digging though, I just don’t agree with the Post, so without being rude to people, sometimes a response is necessary. For equilibrium.

Having read the post back again I can see why now.

As for this afternoon it was miserable with patchy rain until around 4pm followed by a misty end to the afternoon. At least it was mild. :bad:

I’d be accused of being a mild ramper then. :nonono:

This evenings weather update -

Damp mild and dark outside, luckily my local pub has beer to cure the first two ailments and lighting for the latter. :D

So it's grey and shut in all day, then the skies have the audacity to clear after dark leaving a brightly shining moon.

Sounds like what happens in summer...

Another cloudy damp day to go with yesterday and last weekend

Please please roll on Spring - can't we just skip next month and go straight into March.

Possibly the warmest January night for years, with the temperature only briefly dropping below the 10C mark. Overcast, but not raining, currently 10.5C.

Yeah, it's filled in here now. There are gaps on the satellite though, so I'm heading out there.

A warm evening 10.4c at midnight and 9.2c at 4am, now 10.3c, 8-12 mph WSW wind.
Damp out from that rain yesterday lunchtime.
Light grey this morning, but looks to be a good dry day on the cards.
