Jealous! Nothing making it over the peaks for us down in Sheffield.

Absolutely nothing in East Leeds... This is heading for our first ever snowess winter at this rate! However I work in Cleckheaton so sounds like I might at least see some lying snow this morning?

I wondered if that swirl of precipitation on the radar running down the east coast might clip us, but its about 10 miles too far east at the moment, so dry cold and frosty at the moment.

A dusting of snow in Barnsley this morning.  Not especially cold overnight either with a low of -0.2c.  We must have had a bit more cloud cover keeping the temps higher than expected.

Cleckheaton: a dusting but more than Garforth's zero snow!

Naff all here. Didn't drop below -0.8 last night and it's already +0.6c now and the sun isn't up yet!

Desperate times when we're scratching round for dustings of snow in Yorkshire in January 🥺

An icing sugar coating of snow here.  Pathetic but I'm surprised we got even that!

When we will get a big fall of snow here in Yorkshire?  It's well overdue!

Amazingly, here in Lincoln I am still yet to see sleet or snow falling so far this 2022/23 season.  There normally is a mild/wet, cold/dry association with UK winter weather to some extent (away from coastal parts of the north-east), but it's been particularly extreme this winter so far.

Anyone know if the showers coming inland from the North Sea are snow ?

The temperature and dewpoint are good but they've completely died out before getting here.

whatever happened to the north winds we used to get down the east coast with frequent heavy snow showers?.even in the mildest of winters ,you always seemed to get at least one spell of north winds that really delivered.wether its global warming i dont know, but something has changed.

Snow doing it's best to avoid South Yorkshire this winter. Had a couple of dustings in December, a light 10 minute flurry on Monday around midday and the vaguest sprinkling last night which was hard to distinguish from the frost. Hopefully February will deliver something a bit more exciting.... 😠
