We now have a heavy snow symbol for here on the MetO app! That’s at 40m ASL so good sign for other places with altitude.

10pm, 1C and heavy snow.

More worrying of course is the flooding event likely to take place before then.

So the GFS Ensembles average out with 10cm of snow over night with only 4 runs having zero accumulation Max is 22.9

Throw in ice and water run off and its gonna be tricky in the morning, which is nothing to the poor sods being flooded.

I wouldn’t worry too much haha! I’d say our chances are about equal. Could be some awful flooding in south Manchester in the next few hours.

True... 33.6mm so far today here in Sale.. added to the 20mm yesterday makes already 53mm and still more to come, could be a record rain day for the area

ICON doesn't want anything to do with coastal snow though.

Doesn't feel as cold as it did now the rain has subsided a bit. Plenty of flooding in the local woodland though.

Dibbensdale is badly flooded apparantly

Yikes.. not surprised given it's in a hollow.. this is Arrowe Park.. it would be interesting to see what the Arrowe Brook looked like. Tbh it's going to be absolute ranging torrent and half of Arrowe Park will be under water no doubt.

I wonder if the cold undercut will turn things wintry as that precip in S Wales tracks towards us?

That’s the plan. Should be heavy precip all evening starting soon.
