That's rain isn't it for most of us.

The purple (snow) covers the whole of the NW so you'd need to be at sea level to see rain and then, it might have the odd flake in it.

Just wondering where the next angle of attack was coming from -  The Temp ensembles do take a nosedive so maybe early February might deliver after all.

Eye watering charts an E and a W -  E squeeze.

Minestrone was yum

can’t believe the rain earlier if we’d of been 2/3c colder, uppers too, could have been snow fest.... hopefully one day soon we’ll be in the sweet spot with the right parameters (15-30cm +... not greedy )

The Peak District is home to a wide variety of magnificent hills, moors, outcrops and gritstone edges.

Update holds interest but rather vague

WEATHER for Thursday

Cloudy with snow developing overnight and lasting through the morning, turning to rain in the afternoon this becoming lighter. A drier spell in the evening. Low confidence for rain/snow boundary

Tonight the BBC is showing an abridged version of Terry Abraham's wonderful film about Scafell Pike (I admit to a slight bias - I'm in it...

Tonight if anyone's interested - it's got a lot of snow featured in it...!  - a fantastic and challenging mountain.

Filmographer Terry Abraham the last of his trilogy.

BBC 4 9pm.

I have climbed that mountain loads of times in  winter from several locations, simply stunning and majestic up there, sadly missed going this season thanks to COVID ☹️

I've climbed it with my eyes and that was enough.

I think Thursday is increasingly looking like a North Pennines event. But plenty of other opportunities ahead I feel. The outlook could be much much worse.
