Surprised they’ve dragged it further southwards although it’s looking very much like a high ground only event and by that I mean probably higher than myself.

maybe a covering here as it gets going but I it’s yet another day with falling snow and if days with falling snow defines a winter then this one is shaping up into a rather special one.

we just need a “special” fall of snow now rather than the default couple of cm’s.

Something should be falling out of the sky soon. There is a darker band edging closer to my location.

Just drove to Salford Royal and back, i noticed areas around sale/Trafford still had lying snow in shaded areas and on golf courses.

here higher up in my part of  Tameside its all melted, apart from the hills. I'm just in the snow warning, so maybe will see a few flakes.

Rain only at present, some heavier precipitation about to move in so will be interesting to see if it aids evaporative cooling, but not expecting much other than perhaps a dose of wet sleety stuff and at best a slight slushy covering. Not far off a decent snow event had we a bit more colder air at the surface and the front stalled overhead. Turning into a winter of too many near misses so far..

High ground only for snow.

How ever snow warning for Greater Manchester Lancashire and Cumbria for Friday which would suggest the colder air under cutting similar to last week

The hope is killing me, looking good for early December, looking good for Christmas, early Jan may deliver, second half of Jan could be snowy, first half of Feb is a belter....

Is a couple of cm's too much to ask?

Sunday looks good, lol I will not give up!

GFS 06Z for Sunday to me looks like 1–3 hours of moderate snow for Merseyside quickly turning to rain. Of course above 200 m would get battered but that is par for the course.

need to see improvements. I’m running out of patience with marginality now that winter is advancing.

It looks very similar to the Gov's plans. It (COVID) will be gone by .... Keep crossing the months off.

Met warning for Thursday is positive in the wording but GFS and WRF are still bullish that snow will be reserved for any people lucky enough to be travelling 2000 m above the Earth surface. I mean  Buxton feels like that compared to me sometimes but anyway.

it is rare that WRF is so wrong with cold/warm boundaries at this range but I’m really  hoping it is.

The evidence over the last few years would suggest it is. Since Dec 2010, we had the 2013 falls which did produce some cover, and Feb 2018 which lasted until late afternoon. Other than that,  it's been a dusting at most, if we're lucky; no real cover at all.
