Surely this has to be a good sign, as this site in my opinion is one of the most reluctant to issue snow forecasts  image.thumb.png.8aa26ccb7672276aafeffa3daf0d5f33.png

It's currently 3C here with dewpoint 1C its definitely going to be rain here.

I'd also like to point out a substantial area around the highest point in Wirral did not get below -1C last night due to being above a shallow inversion.

Ha - Met Office has me down for 14 hours of snow (not all high %) I want to hope that is true but I won't be staying up late to find out.

Accuweather says no accumulation.

BBC say 11 hours

I know it's not really reliable and down to nowcasting but it's nice at such short notice to see some snow showing on the forecast!

Que no snow

Well the regional forecast just now looked absolutely fantastic for overnight lasting until mid afternoon Friday.

& east of the M6 the precip shadow will likely limit accumulations into the early hours. Nonetheless, some sizeable accumulations will occurr locally, Peak District, Staffordshire, maybe Blackburn & Burnley way.

I like the sound of that.

Looking at the latest METO video forecast, they’re going for quite a decent amount of precipitation overnight and tomorrow.

At last the front has pepped up and we have light to moderate snowflakes leaving a cover on coldest surfaces. Pity it isn't a bit heavier. The front is on the move and looks like clearing here within next couple of hours. We might just about receive a clean cover but it is quite wet in nature. Not sure how this eve will pan out, how far west will the new band reach..

Currently raining, as expected, however I think as the band moves into colder air, snow is quite likely. That said even at 200m in Wales it's still rain

I can film and see the billions of flakes in the sky. But it’s falling as an alternation between rain sleet and snow. Another 50m and we would be laughing.

Light sleet here but it’s very light and it’s hardly noticeable. 1.9°C.
