Slight snow shower.

That band has fizzled to nothing as expected. Looks like heavier stuff tomorrow.

A light snow shower has added a small covering, but the main point of note is the persistence of a snow cover here since Dec 28. That's notable in any winter, and makes this spell easily the best since March 2018.

Minimum last night -4.3c.

Ooh it’s just started to snow. Quite heavy as well actually. Every flake is sticking. A mix of flakes and snow grains. -1.5°C.

Was -4.5*c on my weather station in Bromborough this morning.

 

We for a run around Bromborough golf course for sunrise and was just stunning...  seems like an upgrade to forecasts this morning... fingers crossed for some snow- weve missed most if not al of it this winter so far.

Yes could well be the case. There looks a bit of heavier stuff to our NW if this doesn't deliver I'm clueless why nothing falling from the sky. Indeed the cloud cover is thin , all odd given there is a cold front directly overhead. It is below freezing still that makes it more annoying because any snow that does fall will stick instantly.

Metoffice have just updated today's warning to include snow (was just ice) for a good chunk of the NW.

Yep but I don’t believe it, don’t think it will be as marginal as forecast thanks to the very cold night last night. We will see anyway.

There is the potential for a Pennine shadow over Manchester early tomorrow. Stromg vertical advection + gentle NNE wind. Wont be a classic dry shadow, may just produce lighter ppn for a time here.
