A low of -3.3c in Buxton overnight, usual school closures in effect and the majority of community buses are cancelled. Looks great outside with the snow & rime frost but i'm glad I don't have to be braving the ice-trap pavements.

Yep definitely one of our coldest (as a region) nights for quite some time...it's hard to fathom that scenes outside now with ice and snow on the ground lasted for most of December in 2010.  Thankfully we've just got it for a day or two, before the thaw sets in....for now.

It did get rather cold here after all. Minimum -3.1°C. Currently -1.8°C. air frost now for 15 hours.

Still -0.1°C. Air frost lasted 16.5 hours but is about to end. There is still 1–2 cm of icy snow on the ground. 
there has been lying snow on the ground for longer than at any point last winter.

After a lovely frosty start, things have now turned damp and murky with drizzle and temp now on the rise. Snow cover now disappearing slowly. However, it's been a memorable weekend for weather enthusiasts.

Very cold day. Current temp 1.8 degrees. Feeling raw with low cloud and spots of rain in the air... brrr.. classic warm front moving into cold low level surface air.. but something we tend to see mid winter onwards rather than late November.
