I wish, the windchill was way too cold on Saturday for what I was prepared to endure for 6 hours after getting a taste of it over Whaley Moor, which isn't too far from Taxal Edge but a easier 1hr round-walk from the back-door.

I can see three Potential frontal snow events in the next 10 days on GFS 18 Z. A distinct sinusoidal pattern to the heights and temperature in the next few weeks. Whatever happens it’s going to be a fun ride.

The majority of snow-cover locally has all but melted with the occasional patches left to thaw on the gardens, more noticeable is the wind that's picked up over the past 2 hours and currently gusting at 43/49mph.

Good effort - nice a Gnarly and the spindrift.

Wonder his cam batteries didn't pack up - you know it's cold when your water bottle freezes up.

A damp, overcast and mild morning. Metoffice still being vague about snow chances on Thursday and Friday, just stating rain and snow sweeping through so clearly still uncertainty.

Always feel you have to get the cold in first for the best snowfalls.. perfect example being that innocuous spell of snow which trundled down from the North West on Sunday afternoon and pepped up leaving a winter wonderland in its wake.  Cold before, during and after...perfect.

Today its a mild day in November...so drizzle all the way then.

Yep, grey damp and mild 9° here, not pretty to look at but safe on the roads and under foot.  Lots of lying snow still on the Cat and on the Flash web cams.  Can't  see hills above Macc, blotted out with mist/fog.

Utterly miserable dark day before Christmas kind of day. The type that plagues the run in to Christmas thanks to the mild gunk that a westerly/ south westerly flow brings. It's dark now! Come back polar air all is forgiven.. thank goodness it's back tomorrow!

Had to Google it and its pronunciation, aptly it rhymes with bleak, that will help me to remember it, always learning, it could be a pub quiz winning answer.  Thanks.

Strangely, we had a nice afternoon, dry and fairly bright with odd glimpses of the sun. Quite clear at the moment as the sun goes down.

Complete contrast today, no snow left and much milder. Looking at the models I think reliable is only 3-4 days in advance, anything after is just pure conjecture really as it seems the models are having a hard time grasping things with the unusual atmosphere and a weak Atlantic. We are certainly not in a default zonal position.

Strong winds hit the country's western coast, destroying buildings and blowing ships ashore.

Nasty.  The guy walking down the street is oblivious to the washing machine  (or what ever it is) about to run him over.
