Didn't take long to produce a cover, and on many surfaces, proof once again don't need significantly low uppers to produce snow at relatively low levels. These events bode very very well for the winter season as a whole, given airmasses from between west and north can only get colder and colder.

2 snow events in 5 days not bad going!

Heavy rain now.  Wirral with its hyper-mild snow free climate. Should be used to it now but it would be nice to see some snow once in a while!

It's the sort of event you want on a Christmas Eve evening, nothing severe to cause traffic issues, just enough to give a wintry scene, followed then by a cold frosty Christmas Day.. and it sticking, if only. That is my ideal scenario, an inch of snow Christmas Eve and an ice day on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Very heavy rain. 3.2°C. Seems like a distinct WNW/ESE snow line

Just took this with the camera on night mode. Amazing how much of the low light the snow must reflect as it looks like daytime.

A covering of snow here. Mostly the car and grass but it's the wet marginal stuff that you know will melt in next to no time. Certainly won't be still here in the morning as temps rise through the night.

Last nights wintry sugar coating before retiring for sleep has now gone with temps a balmy 4c.

Models have a nasty low forecast for Wednesday, ideally for NW'ers we want ECM take on it going more southerly bringing in colder air on its northern flank & less impact for wind (here)...GFS has it at potential amber/red warning levels for Irish Sea coastal dwellers.  Hopefully over doing it.

Us Fylde Coasters can handle it.
