Don’t know if there was anything during the night as it’s 5°C now so won’t be any evidence left anyway.

Dropped to -2.9ºC here overnight; not the coldest but still a good frost and a lovely, clear morning

1.5ºC now and still very fresh ??

Minimum this morning 2.1C .. heading  slowly.

No snow last night, or rain for the matter.. I suspect it may have been snow given the dewpoint was below 0C at the coldest part of the night.. though then some cloud came in it did rise above 0C so maybe not. It's irrelevant as there doesn't appear to have been showers here.

Currently 5C on the dot, and feeling really cold in the breeze but pleasant in the shelter in sunshine (which is surprisingly warm for December).

Went for a short ride, and while nice with blue skies, that breeze had a real chill to it.......However, still far better than a wet, windy & wild day.

Temperatures are up and down like a yo-yo at the moment, one day mild double figures, the next barely scratching about zero.  I prefer the latter for this time of the year because it generally comes with cleaner air with lots of sunshine instead of mizzle & mirk.

Not getting excited about transitional sleet overnight, because it will generally be all turning back to rain by mid-morning tomorrow.  So far a good start to winter if you include last week.

GFS has changed massively from this time yesterday. For Tuesday 00:00 it was predicting a T850 of 7.4 C, and now it is  predicting -3.4 C. Still not quite enough but the trend is very good.

2.2°C DP -1.2°C. A bit colder than forecast.

Chance of leading edge snow I would say east of 2.7° W. ice pellets possible in frost hollows for a time.

ARPEGE is more bullish and would have 1–2 hours of snow even as far west is my location with ice pellets to the coast. Not sure how reliable it is though.

Good lampost watching everyone up in the hills - here on the Tundra it's drizzle.

Any reports further west of me of any snow, any precipitation at all. The radar is simply wrong it doesn't show light pink, but deeper pink. It did this on Sunday showed us under snow, but it was a good half hour or so later before the first snowflakes fell.

The start of this December is reminding me somewhat of Dec 2008 brief brought a few transient light snowfalls, after a cold northerly shot end of November, interestingly that December saw a milder atlantic flow in the run up to christmas but then high pressure nosed in at christmas and the month ended cold and frosty.. i'd be happy with the scenario but perhaps the milder atlantic spell to be a week tops running out of steam by mid December.

I suspect that's the case, as looking at the radar it's got strange patterns to the precipitation which suggest that. We will see.
