I wasn't expecting this wind tonight, was it even forecast really? getting about 50mph gusts which are probably causing havoc with the swaying trees!

Very windy here too, but according to bbc weather app it’s just a “moderate breeze” currently.. It’s definitely more than that... Currently 8°C so not desperately cold but not very mild either in the wind.

I don’t think it was forecast either, yet it’s just as windy tonight as it was on Saturday.

Very frankly all this recent weather, tonight included had the Met Office screwed big time, regarding the weather warnings.  The wind outside is horrendous!!

It's windy for sure, not the roar of Friday but regular and frequent gusts but the rain tonight is much heavier so it's making it sound worse than Friday.

Some strong gusts of wind overnight here and rain lashing against the window at times. Chance of sleet and snow showers in Southern parts of the region tonight according to metoffice...

64mph overnight gusts. Reflecting on the lack of any warnings for this (not even a last minute Yellow) as it's still gusting to 44mph this morning and that's only in Buxton town center.

A blustery start to winter with frequent heavy- torrential Cheshire Gap showers really not pleasant weather at least tomorrow looks cold, dry & sunny. Not entirely sold on low level snow chances tonight but as Sunday proved if conditions are right we could see a surprise covering for some.

Yes, the wind and heavy rain last night/ early morning was worse than I was expecting. Maybe the Met Office are busy, and the intern or office tea boy are in charge of the forecasts/ warnings....

If there is any precip after midnight which I’m a bit doubtful about still then it will be snow east of 2.9° w.

Here is the latest icon for early hours of Friday a leading edge snow event.

WRF is also leaning towards a possible leading edge snow event for some on Thursday night. Still low risk at the moment, let’s see what the 12z does.

Absolutely; went out mid morning, and it was rain & wind...however the sky has cleared and it now feels a lot colder.
