Lovely vivid rainbows going up m1 on way to York… lots of spray and low visibility… lots of surface water flowing from fields on parts of woodhead pass… Made a dent into Christmas shopping ????
back home wood chopped fire on

Non-stop showers here all dayalso. Nothing really in terms of vigorous convection but just non-stop. 27.1 mm of rain so far since midnight. 13.5 mm yesterday.

Brief 30 minute respite before another couple of hours rain lined up to the west looking at the radar.  Thankfully it's dark now and doesn't feel like a day ruined like it would in mid-summer.  The day was over before it even started today....dreich!

News reports of local floods in/around Cheshire and the High Peak today, mostly dips in roads where leaves & debris has had the gutters blocked up so the run-off had nowhere to go. Bucketing outside currently which is the heaviest it's been all day and another hour or two of it yet to pass.

We missed the worst of any rain showers (more nuisance rain than anything) today in the south of the region but pouring down now as the line of heavy rain sinks south. Oh how I wish it was snow ⛄️  ❄️ 

No real sign of anything overly mild or cold on the horizon hovering between average- slightly above average temperature wise as others have mentioned recently maybe a bit of Dec 2008esque December setting up. Hopefully we can scrape a frosty, dry Xmas Day.

To some my day up.

Set off to work, horrendous weather the motorway was flooded at various points.

Got to work the office was flooded.

Drove around the lakes all day through some horrendous weather and flooded roads.

Somebody get me an Ark. 

 

Oh and Boris is a ****

Snow at Atalanta vs Villa real will they resume? Looks as bad as the other Sunday at City… The ground staff were great at clearing pitch in 10 minutes at Etihad…
