Aye, been mentioning this rain for a few days now, nobody else has, posted it with charts on model thread about 4 times, probably wrong thread but no thread for 'mondays rain'

likely wetter here than the 3 named storms just before/early half term

Stop it. Could be yet another long trip up the garden path.

Not a bad morning but after a dry weekend, the rain has more than put to bed any concerns about a hose pipe ban in my part of the region

as for tomorrow, I’ve heard rumours about a dry day being forecast but surely that can’t be true given that there’s football at Turf Moor and every minute of the the last 4 games have been played in the rain.

uncertainty about this rain from the south tomorrow, feel it could be with me around 2-3pm, northern areas may stay dry

You have to laugh it's taken until the 2nd week of March to get charts like this

Still a decent amount of snow in Asahikawa in Japan on this webcam. Close to 2ft on the ground. Been very little melt at all since the permanent cover started in early December despite a UV of 4 and 5 in the past week too. This is a place about as far south as Marseille in France. This shows the power of consistently low temps and low dew points over-riding the sun strength.

Perfectly still outside here and a chilly start. Just about managed a frost, a low of 0.8C.

hhhmmm interesting MO update on their extended

Sunday will be a dry day for many areas, though cloudier with patchy rain in the south and west. A few wintry showers are likely in the east. It will be colder for most with brisk winds.. For the following week it will likely be initially, largely dry with some wintry showers possible, as we move through the period there will be an increasing likelihood of spells of rain, potentially preceded by snow, arriving from the west. Winds will likely strengthen through midweek with an increasing likelihood of coastal gales. Rather cool or even cold across much of the UK, but temperatures may begin to recover to nearer normal from the west later in the period.

Less a case of frost and more a case of solid ice on the car this morning although with the amount of rain followed by a quick clearance yesterday, it wasn’t surprising.
