Been up 'Ethel' bagging around the Cat & Fiddle this early afternoon, no snow on the roads around here but the hailstorm we had 1hr ago has left a nice coating of nice on the higher routes. It felt distinctly chilly on the summits today with 50mph gusts and a -15'c windchill although the clear skies between the showers gave for some good convective photo's.

Got caught in a lively hail shower earlier but has been a largely bright day with a bitter wind when it gets going

Snow shower moving through here. Had a heavy hail shower around lunchtime as well. Gusty winds. Temp currently 5.3C.

Looks like the models were bang on the money last night with very little snow accumulation and with that no weather advisory from the met office was both a nail in the coffin for snow prospects. It's just not cold enough.

I think the issue is more to do with the showers are not frequent nor organised. Snow has been reported at low levels.

I’m sure if Ireland wasn’t in the way we would get large organised bands like that

Had snow here, big flakes and intense earlier this morning but not settling. 2-3C with snow falling just isn't cold enough for settling snow had it have been a few Celsius colder it would have settled. So my point stands unfortunately. We had a mixture of rain and hail too a few hours ago...all indicative of marginal conditions. Not good enough.

More organised band of rain/sleet/snow this evening and overnight no doubt snow reserved for high ground but Manchester airport taf has the risk

Not bothered about snow now that ship has sailed below 200 m. Interested in getting some lightning. Has been sadly lacking today so far. Need a trough which hopefully will be around this evening. Wind will be more NW from 2100.

Not bothered myself but worth the mention all in all with all the sad news today the Weather is quite irrelevant really

Interesting spiral of organised precipitation on the radar crossing Northern Ireland.

Doubtful. Expected a few heavier showers today and more wintry. Other than the morning mostly a dry day and not feeling as cold as I expected.

Very irrelevant.

I study world affairs for market reasons as I'm a trader. I hope I'm wrong here but ever since Russia annexed Crimea I knew this could potentially happen.

Like I say I hope I'm wrong but this could be the beginning of a far bigger a plan, I'm waiting for Xin Ping to show his hand over the next week's/months. Taiwan must be looking on nervously, NATO & America to be pulled in 2 directions at once?

Putin was a guest of Pings during the Olympics, the attack started once it was over, coincidence? I think not.

Putin will not stop at Ukraine & I just don't see China sitting on their hands with the power they now have.

World War 3 is the closest it's ever been.

I could go into far greater detail with my theory but this is a weather forum and I haven't the time.
