Dark skies, looking ominous but a bit too much to the SW to get the full benefit of this tasty looking shower

An actual warm evening now, I was beginning to wonder whether I'd see one this summer. 20.6°C

No Knocker this morning?

Was looking promising this morning while I had work to do. Come outside at midday and within 45 minutes it’s clouded over abc! One day we will actually have a sunny day!

Similar day to yesterday. Bits of blue sky appear and it tries to come through for a minut or 2 then gone. Still thrown the temp up to 22c though so shouldn't complain ... Still a few degrees off shorts weather for me though lol

On another note has nayone see this rainfall chart for June?! Mental how much Hampshire has had! No wonder i've been complaining so much!

As a nayone, yeah, largely come about by stalled areas or rain AND heavy thunderstorms a week back. A colleague of mind lives south of Petersfield and I was talking to him, he said "I gotta go, the heavens have opened and I've never seen rain like this before", STRIKE One Global Warming?

He's right too! It was mental!! I'm just praying for the rest of August. We've all got UK ruddy holidays to go on yet!

Well I'm in the high risk warning zone again on some forecasts,  and as previously nothing came off it. There's only so many times you can cry wolf.... right?

Looks like we need to wait a few hours before any storms kick off, on the storm thread people are saying after 1pm….

I'll reserve judgement I'm afraid.

On a positive note,  the sun has been trying to come out, that's gotta be a good thing?

Yeah think that will be key…. Cloud burning off quickly here and the humidity seems to be rising. Good luck!

Outside of "The zone" again down here, with a light shower overnight around 01:30 giving us 0.8mm, after a clear sunny start we are covered now with a stratus layer, temperature 15.6°C & RH85%...

Enjoy your storms..

A really warm, humid feel here just north of Bristol when the sun comes out. This convergence zone is interesting and I have high hopes of some decent storms in the area this afternoon and evening.

It would be nice to liven up what has been a fairly mundane summer so far with some banging storms. Fingers crossed.

I don’t really understand CAPE figures but the number here has gone up from 0 a couple of hours ago to 600 now… and the sun is trying!

I know what good CAPE values for the US are (2000kJ and above), but is there anyone here who can state what a good figure is for the UK?

Frequent rumbling from my E/ESE here.  Had some some extremely heavy rain earlier as well.

I think that cell is just about to pass overhead here - sky has darkened.
