I’m off to football this evening, first friendly of pre season against our local rivals, first match for nearly 7 months! The likely conditions would be more acceptable on Boxing Day not in midsummer!!

Annoyingly it appears another front will come over Somerset on Friday - I’m relieved we’re not getting the extremes of the western US/Canada area but I would like another sunny weekend please

With light rain falling, you know the type, not really heavy in fact not a lot compared to the west of the region, but the sort that if you were to stand outside in it, it would take forever to get wet...

Wind already in from the SSE and still a breeze...but my bin is out ready to get blown over, like all the others in the street..

Yes. Not heavy rain at all..

I'm not sure why I am in a yellow warning for wind either? They are becoming rather pathetic.

Most of the strongest winds a due after midnight, so given its summer and some people are camping, that is probably why they issued a yellow. I had to check twice, though... as right now, barely a breeze here!!

35mph gusts forecast here, that's not warning worthy..

We had gusts of 31mph yesterday, why wasn't a warning put out for that? lol

Lol good point! I've got 45mph forecast, probably add 5/10mph along the coast. Maybe they should slim down their warning area!

I think a yellow warning of wind is correct if there are forecast inland gusts of 45mph especially at this time of year with trees in leaf.

salisbury plain / new forest area.

Embedded thunderstorm that as well judging by the radar!

Well that was a storm in a teacup, NOT. Apart from the useful rainfall which topped out at 26.2mm, the winds, well... they weren't windy...

From the reported gusts, it appears that the following picked up:

Jersey Airport (84 m) 53mph

Isle of Portland (53m) 39mph

Bournemouth (10 m) 30mph...and that was gusts

Ah well, after a low of 11.0°C at: 06:51, currently 12.3°C and RH91% pressure 998.0mb rising slowly..

Max gust of 25mph here. That occurred before the warning was valid lol

16mm of rain though.

We're off to Guernsey on Sunday for 6 days, the weather was looking really good, we'd planned trips to Herm and Sark but the models seem to be edging away from a warm settled scenario...Fingers crossed it improves
