A slushy, patchy dusting from hours of heavy snowfall. Amazing how strong March solar radiation is even with full cloud cover, sub zero and and heavy, persistent snow.

Turning out to be one of the poorest events since I moved here.

Sound of ice pellets here with some flakes mixed in.

Can't complain loved driving in the snow during 'rush' hour. Seems like around 10cm+ may have fallen.

Current temp 0.2C with a DP of -0.6C

Done okay here similar to 18th to 19th Jan depth wise, lack of clear skies the problem

Turning to a drizzly mix here now I think, and thawing off the trees fast, but it's definitely been a significant and memorable snow event here. Ironically my kids' school have decided to shut at 1, just as the worst is over!

Yes, it was amazing how many people were caught out at 8am this morning, lots of cars abandoned on hills, luckily for me I live close enough to walk my daughter to school

Yes rain in Hinckley, dew point now 0.2

Still snowing here in Ratby. Very surprised at that considering you're only 20 mins down the road!

Interesting drive to work to Birmingham city centre at 4am this morning...and back just now.

A good covering in the city centre...but nowhere near the amount we have here in Dudley. Could just see the depths slowly increasing as I drove home.

I haven't mesaured it but one of our best snowfalls here. Might even be better than March 2018, not as good as Jan 2013 and nowhere near as good as March 2013..but I don't think we'll see snowfall again like that for a long time!

A superb event for the higher parts of the Black Country, and fairly decent overall for the West Midlands it seems.

There's a fine drizzle now...and I think those heavy showers to our south might be about to spoil things somewhat. But it doesn't matter...we got there!

Interesting .....  Here in low lying Shrewbury, where it typically is the one of the first to transition to rain...   it is still snowing...

That boundary line must be laser cut as its rain here.

Few wet snowflakes mixing in with the very heavy shower over Eastern Solihull. Must be due to the intensity trying to bring colder air down again.

(Edit: mostly back to rain/sleety rain again).

Final depth before the rain,

I think some spots in the midlands will get 7-8cm tomoro morning, falling  in the space of 4 hours under darkness again it should also hold on as -7 uppers return too by 8am.

I thought the met office might have thrown an amber due to the fact it's coming just before rush hour.

You're about to either get drenched or buried, it will be interesting to see which. The blob heading to me is smaller and fuzzier, I'm trying to hold onto hope that it will be at least sleet and not rain!

The line between rain and snow must literally be about 5 miles South of here 😂 We still have snow grains falling but Hinckley, 13 miles to the South, had rain 🤨
