the rotation is virtually centered over SE18 currently, about an inch settling so far, but radar showing areas of green as opposed to pink now.

It's still snowing steadily here, but that's what i'm worried about, my temperature has gone from -1 to 0c.

Hi Danm

Looks like the first snowflakes have finally arrived here. Let’s hope this gets heavier now

Yep got steady snowfall now and all surfaces covered. It’s getting heavier by the minute.

It has been snowing in South Ockendon for just over an hour and it has only just stopped for a few minutes and has started again.  Here is a photo of the snow from my back garden.  I am sorry that photo quality is a poor as my battery phone is rather low.

Think that’s probably it for us but best snow since, I reckon, 2013 for this neck of woods. Feels like I must have forgotten a better fall between then and now but can’t think of one.

Starting to look a bit heavier now, and with less traffic, the road has got a covering that wasn't there half an hour ago. We've managed 1cm since it started at about 4pm

The snow is beginning to get a wee bit heavier, with a light covering now in W11, with the pivot looking good.

Evening all.  Some beautiful snow pictures on here today.  Some worthy of Christmas cards 🙂  Long time no see due to working long hours then in hospital as emergency admission from middle of November until a week or so ago (nothing to do with work; a stomach problem that went from nothing to serious in less than 12 hours).  Finally got enough energy to photograph a couple of elusive sunsets and been reading your lovely posts today.  Our overnight low was -6.2°C  with thick freezing fog all morning and today's high was -2.2°C.  Have just downloaded the latest stats and we've warmed up to -1.9°C with a dew point of -2.7.  Not sure if my village will get any snow tonight; think we could be a wee bit too north but even if we don't, it's been lovely looking at the first ice day I can remember for a long time and your photos.

The cobwebs on the gazebo frame have such a lot of frost they look like macrame.  Today's thread takes me back to 2005 - 2009 when the banter thread updated faster than I could add a post; its lovely to see the enthusiasm and advice about travelling and the joy of the photos - has lifted my mood more than any painkillers!

For those of you with snow, hope you get out and about safely in the morning - take care.

So great to see so many happy members online. The first time in ages that we have had a relatively surprising snowfall, rather than the usual hope from a week out, only to see chances diminish to nothing as the time nears.

Woohoo!

Hi all,

I've resurrected our Snow Depth reporting tool (was originally made for the easterly in February 2021). It was very popular and hugely valuable back then to see the spread of snow depths across the region, so if possible could you submit a snow depth reading once the snow has ended at your location and then you can see all the other reports nearby too. Thank you! 🙂

WEATHERQUEST.CO.UK

I should add, even a report of 0cm is useful in knowing where the rain/snow boundary is!

We came through Basildon 1 hour ago and it had just started settling there, here in Rayleigh just heavey rain now turned to snow but struggling to settle as it rained so much. If it was a all snow event here we'd have a good couple of inches already
