This is pretty nuts! Lightning approaching from the West. Seems to have developed very quickly.

Showery  rain  is reaching the ground here, larege spots and enough to 90% wet my paving stones. Nothing dramatic but it's holding the temperature up at currently 21.8°C. The forecast maximums for Monday and Tuesday here are now lower and back in the realms of normality, 29 to 30 i.e. not IMO worthy of an Extreme Heat amber warning that we've been seeing for several days.

Maybe that will filter through to the Red warning areas - I will be surprised now to see 40 anywhere, maybe the 38.7 will survive after all? ** We shall soon  see.

** I hasten to add, on Monday. Tuesday looks to be hotter.

Good Morning

Sunday 17th July: Another fine day for the most part, almost unbroken sunshine through the Morning barring some patchy mid level cloud of AcCas which looked pretty cool. The sky became rather milky for the Afternoon making the sun hazy for the most part, as well as a fresh breeze keeping my local area a little cooler than other places. However by the Evening some very high base cumulus went up turning into cumulonimbus mainly to our west. We went out to check them out and some of them produced a few strikes of Lightning to our surprise. These were super elevated, so most of any rain was barely reaching the ground apart from a few spots.
Max Temperature: 23.3'c  Min Temperature: 16.3'c  Average: 20.5'c

This Morning started off with the odd shower, though quickly cleared leaving a lovely sunny rest of the Morning along with some mid level cloud. Temperature: 24.2'c

Temp not as high as 11/08/2020 at this point in time. Can't see any record here.

Temperature flat lining at the moment due to some high cloud and a slight southerly breeze picking up.

27.2°C here and falling after it got to 29.0C earlier. Line of showers to the south making it cloudy here.

Yes the forecasts have been a tad lower for last few days and today for our area.
Temp rise has stalled a bit, quite a bit of cloud cover.
