I'm not holding out on these bands of activity, If I forward forecast they BOTH miss us completely...so Dorset is NOT one of those active areas, I suspect.

Cloud movement is a very slow NNE motion at the moment (18:10)

Currently at work down at Merehead quarry with one eye to my west/south west.  Not sure how far east it's going to get, could skirt up the M5 towards the Bristol area and my house, which would be typical.

Some very interesting looking skies here, out the back there is a faint rainbow, very dark thundery sky, lightning, then out the front the sun has poked out and the sky is a yellow-ish shade.

Torrential rain just passed and now it's quite steady with occasional thunder and lightning.

Standing above Boscombe pier, it's hosing down, with the occasional lightning flash over the channel but not overly active at this point in time.

A lot of IC and heavy rain, as it moved NNE. Folks in Poole reported a close strike earlier, but now we are watching it fade in to the distance.

I'm on a thunder high. Lots of flashes, one big one and a huge crack of lightening. Not very intense as yet

An actual real-life actual thunderstorm, so rare here, yay!

Rain peaked at 167 mm/hour so far, still bucketing down, half an inch of rain in under half an hour 15 minutes so far.
