Lovely covering here, more so on grass and trees, still snowing. I may get lucky and keep snow in to Evening but looks quite knife edge, milder tomorrow but chance of more snow Friday if GFS is to be believed.

Snowed a little this morning in Oxford but mostly gone already - maybe more later?

Keep an eye on the wind direction. If it is anything N of East then you will likely get snow, if S of East then increasingly likely to be rain. Altitude is also crucial. We have double the snow depth here compared to 150ft below us.

Snow starting to melt at a faster pace now.  It is up to 2c here.

Heading into Whatley for work, interested to see how conditions are down in a more rural setting there.

A couple of inches of snow here in Portishead, but it's getting wet and slushy. Mixture of sleet and snow now.

Looks like Bristol airport had it quite bad, they have shut down flights.

9 degree difference in temperature between Exeter and Culdrose, which is about 85 miles away as the crow flies.

Current temp of 0.5c with dew point at 0c still have light snow.

W COUNTRY WEDS: Broad trend to spread snow risk further north through today into afternoon/eve, i.e. more into #Gloucestershire/#Cotswolds & eastwards to Chilterns. Tricky balance southwards, as snow could pep-up later/eve for eg M4, S Glos, perhaps #Bristol (esp higher ground).

Interesting that the warning area includes much of somerset and wiltshire still I thought it may be moved north towards gloucester.

Still snowing but the strange situation of what’s on the ground melting too. That’s the problem (or not depending on your viewpoint!) with no freezing temperatures beforehand!

Been fortunate up here in the far NE of our area. Lots of snow for the mid morning dog walk around Silchester (about 7 miles south of the magical M4 snow shield)

Catching a red radar section now and it’s very heavy big flaked snow. For now it’s adding fresh cover to what had melted.

Sadly the white stuff has turned to the clear stuff so that I think is it for here anyway unless something happens later but i doubt it

Now at Shepton Mallet hosp for hubby's physio, everything very white here and snowing heavily. Journey from home through the Cheddar valley, looking down to the levels and home, it's al green. Looking to the hills, it's all white, snow line appears to be 100mtrs asl or so.

We missed the snow on the coast of course, so I headed inland to see where the snow line was. As expected, it starts at the south downs, about 15 miles inland at Exton. Drove up to 150msl and got the full experience, around 3 inches of snow. Quick snowman with the kids, box ticked for the winter
