Not a direct hit here, but plenty of lightning seen so far and low rumbles of thunder. Beggars can't be choosers after how bad this year has been. Nearest strikes were about 8 miles to my West, but I've seen lightning to the South East of here as well from another cell.

Waited all day to get shafted like that.

That was probably last chance for this season. Worst year for storms here ever.

Don't worry mate got all winter to get shafted further 👍

The thunder and lightning has died away here, but the rain has been coming down nicely over the last hour or so, much needed.

One very distant flash seen here. Now just heavy rain. (Reddish)

Torrential rain and sudden gusts has just arrived here but no thunder, electrification seems to have weakened as it's moved north. Good job I witnessed last night's thunder or I'd have not recorded any overhead this year.

Sat here munching McCoy’s hoping for a storm and very disappointed. Hoping the back edge can do something.

A complete non event. Saw distant lightning flashes, it got gusty but weakest area in the precipation went over my area. So I didn't even get the torrential rain.

The rain is heavier now than when the "squall line" went through.

nice little storm passing to the north.. not overhead but still, I've seen the first storm of 2022. Saw spider lightning too.

It's all a bit Mediterranean this, a dry summer followed by a wet, thundery start to Meteorological Autumn

No T&L here like there was early hours of today...but the rain was deluge proportions for an intense 10 mins.

Distant flashes to the south of me in the northern lake district, fantastic lighting up of Great Dodd and Clough Head

Heavy rain finally made it here. No thunder or lightening.

Squall line developed just to the south of me will be very wild in a little while

On closer inspection, Thursday holds some potential. Looks to be a zone of convergence modelled Liverpool-Humber ish.

Though the GFS has it further S slightly, more N Wales to the Wash

Tomorrow has some interest also (towards evening) for those in the S and SW of the region.
