Not been a bad day here, mainly dry with just the odd sharp shower and a fair bit of sunshine but some heavy showers are moving across now

anyway let’s get it over with then just maybe a couple of dry days over the weekend.

One rumble of thunder today. But safe to say the drought is over (for now) after some much needed rain over the last few days. Everywhere now looking much more greener.

The sky has been black as night at times to my East over the past hour or so and there was a deep roll of thunder about 30 minutes ago whilst I was out on my bike. That makes it four days out of the last five with thunder heard.

Really heavy rain now.

Not expecting thunder but reverse psychology might work

It will be interesting to see the difference when I travel back home tomorrow. Looks like I’ve missed a lot of rain.

Some lovely pics of Scarborough I took today, yesterday and the day before. The sea was really rough yesterday. Had a nice meal in an Italian restaurant. Saw a lovely cat sat in a shop window and came across an extremely tame grey squirrel. It came right up to me.

Another nice day today. Mostly sunny with a high of around 19 degrees. Felt very warm during the afternoon.

Going back home to boring old Lancashire tomorrow (sigh). 😞

Looks like you've had a good time 👍 Nice pictures, I like Scarborough and it's curving bays, great place for some nice food as well - clearly you've made the most of that too don't blame you.

Not a bad morning here with sunny intervals and I should think we'll end up with a dry day here and probably a bit less humid and fresher feeling than recent days. A good day for getting out and about.

Well I’m on my way back home now. Been nice to have some time away from the house.

Looking at the autumn thread it sounds like it’s been a washout the past week in most places. I’ve obviously been very lucky. While it has rained frequently it’s been mostly light and brief, apart from some heavier rain during a thunderstorm one afternoon. I haven’t needed a waterproof jacket once. The temps have been comfortable too, not too hot or too muggy.

Looking at the forecast it doesn’t look too bad at at all, mostly dry and sunny , temps in the mid to upper teens. looks like I’ve missed the worst of the weather.

It's completely clouded in here now. Dry though, currently 18.3C.

A bit of brightness at times but mainly cloudy here although it’s the high level type that gives excellent visibility rather than the usual stuff that cloaks the tops.

pleasantly warm and very usable conditions.

Drizzly start here first thing, grey until late pm, cloud broke and it's a beautiful sunny evening. Don't think temp for here hit 20° today, max 19°.

The clouds parted here late afternoon to leave a glorious sunny evening. Temperature maxed out at 20.2C today. A cooler night to come tonight with clearer skies allowing temperatures to drop more than last night.

Uppers probably won't get much colder than this all winter. You gotta laugh.

A cooler night last night than recent nights, a low of 10.1C. A bright start today, rain forecast later, but hopefully this holds off until this evening.

What an absolute glorious morning so far 14.5° currently, last night's min dropped to single figures 9°.  There's  a lot of mist up on the tops.  Looks like a water station has been set up on the Cat and Fiddle, maybe a cycle or running event?  All enshrouded in mist for the time being, Flash cam all misty too.  Anyone know what the event possibly is?

I think it's a charity cycle ride, called the Cat and Fiddle challenge.
