Misty early doors before the sun managed to raise its lazy head...acts like an hormonal teenager now taking longer & longer to get up from its overnight slumber.  Ground surfaces (esp the grass I need to cut) staying wetter for longer...might be entering a soggy phase.

After Friday and Saturdays washouts, today has been a decent day, plenty of warm feeling sunshine and crucially it’s been completely dry.

a very usable day.

A decent day today, dry again and it turned into a really nice afternoon with plenty of sunshine, so after Friday's wet weather, it's been a decent dry weekend here.

GFS operational showing a chilly northerly mid month. The ensembles did hint out at this for the last few days so maybe it's onto something with the op. Or maybe not could disappear next run.

Snow for the Scottish mountains. Close to 10cm.

A real shame it's not 2 months down the line!

It's been a warmer weekend; absolutely chucked it down Sat evening with some really heavy bursts; but temps were around 12ºC on Saturday and then much warmer yesterday; around 16ºC all day...

Cooler this morning; 9ºC currently and quite grey; but meant to be dry today

Winds picking up too!

Think today will be the more settled day for most of the region to stay dry before it turns wet and blustery overnight.  Pleasant start earlier blue sky and sunshine, a bit overcast now.  Min last night 7 °.  Liking these bright starts, will be lighter in a few weeks when the clocks go back, but suddenly lose early evening light.

Not looking forward to Wednesday. All the trees are still full-in-leaf, so even 50 mph winds could bring a few down.

I mentioned that fact a few days a go.

Weve not had really strong winds (60+) for a while and its going to bring a lot of dead wood down.

Gutted that I missed this morning's sunrise, having been up until 5am nursing a migraine and trying to get sleep before the alarm-call at 9am.  On the plus side I managed to get a 2hr walk around the Goyt Reservoirs at midday before the persistent cloud-cover moved in, with the Autumn Leaf colors now just beginning to bloom.

The region woke up to a spectacular scene of bright oranges, pinks and purples in the sky

Looks like a westerly pattern is going to get going this week and maybe for the foreseeable, with only temporary ridges.  Yep goodbye summer 22 you did quite well...autumn has now taken to the front stage.

Was fantastic game… did the poznan a few times and watching Utd (tourist)  fans leaving at 35/36 minutes 😂🤣 fantastic atmosphere ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽️ should’ve been more…

had horrible news from a friend first thing yesterday, her dad had heart attack and she’d given cpr and restarted his heart and breathing until ambulance arrived…but he died 6 hours later after four cardiac arrests… obviously utterly distraught bless her….

Footy game & result brightened the mood…

warmish day today in sunshine… more outdoor chores scratched off the list…

Another very decent day for early October, mild, benign, dry, not much sun, but quite bright, and little wind. October has started off very kind in the Lake District, but all is about to change, a generally very unsettled windy and wet period ahead.. oh joy!

Thinking about cutting the grass early tomorrow before the rain comes. I bet others have the same idea because there might not be much more opportunities after as it does look fairly unsettled!

The grass can stay where it is for me it’s only 5ft x 12ft 😂 not the grass the so called garden I claim to have 😂
