After a wet night, a horrible days weather.

nothing more to say about it really apart from……..it’s raining again.

oh and that the latest UU update shows that reservoir levels are finally back on the up again.

the drought is over, the monsoon season has arrived.

Yep had a rumble of thunder 30 mins ago and torrential downpour after a very wet day earlier on.  Seems like a distant memory when the ground was rock-hard dry during the high summer, definately turned a corner now.  Feels like rainy season... hope it transitions to snowy season come late December.

Next update will likely be a lot higher I'd imagine as the bulk of the rain we've had was from late Sunday to now. With more to come.

Bit of late afternoon brightness, not as dark as this time yesterday. It feels quite cold, lost the tropical maritime air. Current temp 10.7 degrees. Looking ahead Saturday is set reasonable thankfully, tomorrow and especially Friday overcast and more rain. That winter state of mind is creeping in..

Yellow weather warnings are the equivalent of saying 'be aware there is some weather about'..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure they used to call the yellow ones weather 'watch' rather than 'warning' a few years ago? This may have changed when they brought the probability/impact matrix in.

I was expecting stronger winds first thing this morning. It was a little breezy, but nothing that significant. There has been plenty of rain though today, with persistent moderate/heavy rain until around mid afternoon. Things then brightened up with some sunny intervals late afternoon but then had a torrential shower around 18:00. A great view of the moon just above the horizon whilst I was out for a walk around 30 mins ago.

Weather warnings usually broadcast for high impact events from memory as there was no alternative. Probably equivalent of orange amber warnings. Yellows will soon become permanent because they denote just a bit of rain or wind nowadays. I ignore them. Many a yellow warning just means normal weather here.

Yeah, pretty sure that they were only called warnings when amber and that these were only issued when confidence of bad weather was 60% or more. The yellow weather watch would be issued when confidence was less than 60%. Perhaps they should revert back to this terminology for yellow and amber warnings. I do think the probability/impact matrix was a good introduction though.

You’ll not be keeping much of an eye on us from a cruise unless you’ve managed one with a decent cheap Wi-Fi package.

where are you off to?

Cunard to Amsterdam and back. One drawback is that Cunard cruises do not start and end at Liverpool...yet. So it's off to Southampton shortly and hoping we miss the squall line which is due through the NW later.

Just downloaded the light show.

Wow. Good job I don't suffer from photo epilepsy.

Was half expecting Diversity to start throwing themselves around on the Champions league football emblem.
