Well done all of you down in S Coast.

Here inland one flash earlier. Got my cameras at the rest just incase that pulse coming across the channel to Dorset makes it easy up here. Hoping it doesn’t fade out though.

Just as it seemed to have fizzled out, more lightning and finally heard some thunder.

Heavy showers developing to the North of London, and a few SE of Bristol, while the storms are coming into the South Coast.

If this is the start of the season I can't wait to see what happens mid summer, maybe a repeat of 2018/2019

I am seeing distant lightning S/SW from Warminster. Presume it’s the cells approaching Weymouth. Unless something electrical is kicking off in between.

Good evening all, Been a year since i last logged in i think. Its that wonderful time of year when some people get the storm and most are left disappointed lol! But tonight does look interesting for sure, some cells appearing on the radar to my south and east. Cross your fingers everyone!

Looks like the Cherbourg cell is heading NE towards the East Sussex coast - hopefully with this instability moving NE it will maintain itself but still two hours out probably.

Fingers crossed it’s making a beeline for Beachy Head!

I think Portsmouth, maybe slightly east is a good shout in my opinion. As instability transfers NE there may be several clusters of thunderstorms that head your way tonight. That saying there are likely to be periods of no activity at times.

That is my hope. It's not overly exciting at the minute with just the odd flash every 5 minutes, but I will hang around a bit longer.

Hi Andy I saw quite a big flash earlier about half an hour ago to the south of Frome  like you say I’m not sure if it’s the flashes from the storm is coming to Weymouth or as you said something in between sometimes they don’t always show up on radar the flashes

really happy for everyone on the south coast getting a really good light display at the moment
