This makes a change, the amount of sleepless nights on already deprived sleepless nights I've had waiting for TSRA in a post-PLUME event is unreal.  A bonus is anything when it's not forecast.

My first post, one or two showers around the Solway Firth this evening with some interesting developments with very high cloud bases with most of the precipitation evaporating before it gets to the ground.

Thundery looking skies tonight but nothing like that for a couple of days yet. There is a shower above me though with just virga, not experienced that too often, it's truly like the desert today.

 

Edit: now a few drops falling, I wasnt expecting any rain today. A paltry amount but I'll take it. Lovely cloudscapes around now with that altocumulus catellanus thundery look.

Morning everyone… Can’t sleep due to the heat.

Just had a look, and there are some showers about, and it looks like there has been a flash of lightning over the river Mersey! 🌩

Can anyone confirm or deny? 🌩

I can’t believe it. Slept through. Checked my weather station and saw a lightning alert and had been a little bit of rain. I did have a dream about thunder. Pretty sure it was a real strike as it was picked up on multiple detectors. Gutted.

I feel your pain mate… I remember sleeping through a nocturnal rattler back in 2019… Like you I felt gutted.

Ahhh well… Let’s just hope and pray that the weather gods give us something thundery as this Spanish Plume of hell breaks down. 🌩⛈

Strangest thing occurred there is big puddles on the roof and trampoline here I was out in the garden at 2am and there was nothing looked out the window and it has been raining yet checked the radar and can't find anything

Well, it’s all kicking off in North West France and heading our way. Normally I’d say they’d die but the heat and energy is there and the clouds here back that up that they should cross to us first.

Can’t come in quick enough. The humidity is rising quickly here making it very uncomfortable. Sky is milky looking East, much cloudier South and West
