I might be deceived by the radar but it looks like the cells over the Midlands are starting to take a more NE'ly turn towards the south/east Peak District.

Yes, it's gone very dark to the south and south east of here but, looking at the radar, it's moving very slowly so I'm still not sure whether it will pass just to the east or if I'm directly in its path.

Very dark to my SE, no thunder or anything though, I'd be happy with just some rain!

Very surprised no lightning is coming from that lot.

Looks like a monsoon is incoming though

Well it is quite dark and finally some rain, but lightning activity looks poor unless more gets going later as it slowly progresses.

Same! It has been torrential for some time now and you'd think it'd chuck out a bit of T&L 😅

We'll see I guess as it continues its journey north.

I am back in Wally! Sums it up because there's a massive storm over my hometown in Bristol right now!

Not really "a massive storm", Ben. Dark clouds, steady rain, only the odd, distant clap of thunder.

Think it'll just continue as rain for Lincoln now with the occasional rumble of thunder for the heavier parts, still nice to have a fresher feeling, hopefully some chances later in the month or September

Not holding out much hope. Another disappointment overall methinks.

Completely missed us at the last min, the front was heading towards us bulls eye directly from the south, then just as it approached started moving North East out toward the Wash.

so disappointed as we were expecting something a bit substantial.

LO

I'm about 10 miles away and can hear absolutely nothing from it!

Been really poor for a few seasons now for storms, we don’t get them as frequently as we used to, makes you wonder if that is also a symptom of global weather pattern changes.

Just heard this lot but yeah not been amazing here lately. I remember this storm at the end of August a few years ago once which was at night coming up from the South, was super impressive, now most tend to be thundery showers with the odd rumble. Lincolnshire is usually known as the hot spot for home growns as well

Reckon tomorrow might hold up something good for those along the south coast.

CZs setting up and just needs a bit of sun for them to kick off and go.

I'm still just halfway between Sleaford and Lincoln and would describe it as heavy rain on and off with the odd flash and rumble of thunder. Not very impressive really. Still early days but I'm not overly confident of anything that will get my adrenaline pumping.

Can have my sun in exchange for a storm! It’s made it out at last despite a layer or muggy humid cloud all day.

Hearing more rumbles than earlier as they move away, seems a few areas are getting rumbles as well perhaps with cooling taking place. Probably needed temperatures like yesterday for storms to pick up

still absolutely nothing up here. no rain. no thunder. just humid, muggy and cloudy. it really is quite impressive to constantly miss everything 100% of the time.
