I have seen some amazing storms on the coast and I've had some amazing storms over Bedford.  Where we live sometimes we have storms practically develop over us (which happened in August) but mostly storms break up as they hit my area and then re-built later up country. I just think it's the part of the area i live in. Snow is another example.

I would love to see a shelf cloud like people in SW have seen. Not jealous, at all.

Yeah I know what you’re saying. I think anywhere flat tends to see them more often. Seen a fair few shelf clouds up in Lincolnshire over the years racing across the fens.
Since the early 2000’s and 90’s in particular there has just been a huge decrease in general activity. Can’t tell you how many times I’d be sitting down watching Kenan and Kel on a weekday evening to then have the signal and power go off due to a humdinger 😂

The strata and waves in this storm are quite unlike anything I've seen before. In coming!

Altocumulus clouds going up in north kent, feels stormy again! Although we haven't seen any proper rain now for two months.. In fact Parts of Kent have been the driest of all the counties up and down the UK

Had a couple flashes but seems lightning activity has 'split' and died out over us as usual. 😅

Was looking at the Storm around Belgium as it was offering a couple flickers every couple seconds and then looked away for a second and one lightning strike (dimly) lit up the whole sky, must have been a really powerful lightning strike.

And again

This time a blue one that was straight ahead of me, must be seeing the Storm that looks headed towards me or near me in the channel then.

Epic rain here! Just had a good flash (of lightning) and a low rumble, not expecting much else, but the impressive rain almost making up for it… almost.

Can see the lightning flashes from the Channel storms (near the Kent/Sussex coasts)

Thunderstorms forming in the channel now, heading north/north east!

Seems to be an uptick in that new stuff forming in the E English Channel! That will be the next area of interest. Could be looking good for your area soon.

Unfortunately it looks like it's going to miss Telford but should hit Shrewsbury head on within the hour.

Can see lightning to my west, no thunder but nice to see. Might head to Portsdown Hill or just stay in back garden with a cup of tea ☕️

As it approaches Birmingham areas the radar doesn't look particularly convincing, only thinking is the night is still young and could be a chance for something out of the blue, main lot is in the channel though right now

Atmosphere is getting agitated here - just had a light shower from some developing Ac.

It's very rare for me to see the whole sky lighting up from a Storm in the channel, I feel like there's some positive CG's involved here or something like that.

Very large downpour here but no lightning yet, but I think a daughter cell has just passed over too - very large raindrops. Looks like a repeat of last night although it only lasted 10 minutes I did see plenty of distant flashes light up the clouds beautifully
