Drove through fairly heavy shower at Eastergate after 4 pm, but dry at home.

It's a bit late posting this as I went on holiday but this is my video of the storm chase I did back on September 8th. It was a day of pulse showers and storms so not the most active or severe storms (aside from flooding). Then again, active storms haven't been as easy to come across for most of us this year.

Is that caused by too many people stood outside the Vape shop?

The BBC weather forecast for the week ahead suggests that Friday could be stormy, with welcome rain covering much of the UK.

...and followed by 'thunderstorms' throughout the NW of England according to the local news last night.

There's lightning on the Sheringham webcam.

I've seen a few flashes from home , not very active.

This PTZ live camera is aimed at the coast of Sheringham with the embankment including the beach and a promenade, lined with cafes and restaurants.

I’d like a severe thunderstorm here but it’s unlikely now until the summer from high based clouds ☹️

In this troubled world, a storm really does cheer me up

UKV showing line convection on Friday morning and afternoon across a large portion of the country. Could this be of any interest?

A surge of warm uppers, with a large low pressure anchored to the west. This kind of set up could even produce elevated storms this late in the year if it were to come off, if I'm right in thinking so.

This is of course some 9 days away though, so it's unlikely to come off like that, but the ECM has been keen on something similar at least for a few runs now.

Now all we need is for it to stay put. For four months!😁

I hope none of the 'coldies' in the model thread see you saying things like that, you'd be toast 😆

I forgot to post this (probably because it wasn’t that noteworthy). This is a squall from October 7th coming over the Doncaster area. You can see the defined line where the heavy rain starts. Was trying to check for any lightning potentially associated with it but there was none, just some decent gusts and a downpour. Might be it for this season for a while.

Estofex seem to think it is going to be a very interesting day ! Apparently the risk of scattered thunderstorms and the risk of tornadoes in the risk area due to all that shear.

Some beefy storms on sat 24 with  cloud tops at 10k meters might be fun and games later

A quite strong storm on our hands 🙌 a hailcore, fairly active Sferics and torrential slow moving rain moving over the hills, not a good mix !
