The model output has my interest for next week, I’m just wondering what day it’s going to go wrong 😂

When upgrades to cold or warm begin within the 120 hr time range, you take notice, and it suggests a firm a signal to cold..

😍

Nice to look at but you would imagine somewhere is going to get a fair amount of snow out of this set up.

Nice to see the Met app showing a single snowflake for Sunday here.

I know it will likely disappear as quickly as it showed up but to go from mid December until mid January through any winter without the slightest hint of snow is unusual so I just hope that the patterns align to give us something of interest.

that said, I expect the very end of January into early February to be the time for snow as it coincides with when we are probably off abroad for a weeks holiday.

as for today, it was actually dry when I opened the door to take the dog out.

I think she was probably happy to be not getting soaked, I certainly was😂

 Winter back?

Sweepstake tomorrow for when it all uncannily disappears.

Stay tuned

Winds gusty out right now. Dry at the moment, currently 7C.

A nice extended output from the metoffice with a return to below average temperatures and wintry weather a real possibility and some nice charts showing up. It hasn't happened yet obviously, but just goes to show you can't just write off a whole month of weather.

5.9c blustery westerly  veering NW and the odd shower here in the marginals, clouds belting through. Interest building for next week. Polar maritime style NW'ers have produced in this part of the world and we are (over) due. Interestingly for here (East Cheshire) old codger farmer wisdom say the biggest snows have come from over Bosley cloud which would be a South Easterley-I guess from sliding midland or channel lows. Anyway at least there is a chance of something different!!!

A bit of a blustery day today with gusty winds. Some showers at times and a cool feel in the wind, temperature reached 8.1C.

A bit of a naff day overall in having a inconvenient puncture on the A555 *thanks to a HGV driver for pointing it out* as I was off to attend a interview at the airport, after that was temporarily fixed with a spare, the skies gradually began darkening around lunch-time when I was southside viewing before the rain decided to lash down. A cold & soggy retreat back home to a nice brew and soup for my efforts.

UKMO going for a huge frontal event next week. Wowza. With cold likely wrapping around behind so nothing mild sweeping in after. Very pleased with how things are going up to now 🙂
