Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, we are winning temp wise. Temp still high sat at 26.2 degrees, indeed it is bizarre seeing the heat hold in Cumbria a number of degrees higher than as well. Losing rain and thunder wise. Bone dry here again!

I would have thought the extra heat would have injected some homegrown convection, but no nothing.

I suspect after a good dose of rain for many, where the case the prospect of no more until tail end of the week at the earliest will be welcomed. For those not in this position which includes me wanting rain, its not a welcomed outlook.

Ambleside and Windermere normally wettest towns in England have for the last 5 weeks been one of the driest and warmest. This is a truly exceptional June so far in the Lake District, I don't believe ever experienced.

Lightning has hit a house in the town apparently, heard sirens and apparently that’s what it was.

Hope occupants are OK.

The most insane storm I've experienced in the UK, driving from Macclesfield to Nantwich was an experience. Think we followed the cell, large hail, flash floods, trees down, power outages. Crazy.

Saturday... Too far to my West. Yesterday, too far to my east. Today, too far west again! The lightning map looks bonkers over Kirkham way!

Mostly stopped here now, just occasional thunder from the west. We've had about 20mm rain from that. To show just how dry it has been: it's all been absorbed by the top 3cm of my soil. Still bone dry underneath. This is an area I spread compost on on Friday, nice and loose so it hasn't just run off.

Unbelievable storm here still going strong after 2 hours lots of flash flooding lightning every 20 seconds! This cloud was on the front edge of the system, scud or funnel cloud? It was definitely rotating.

What an epic storm. Quite scared in the middle with those positive strikes getting very close culminating in one shot gun at 500 m. decaying now and giving the odd huge positive strike. The last one was absolutely enormous. Sounds like another storm to the south-east and an insane amount of lightning on the radio from it. Round two?

Right on the edge of the storm cloud from all the fun to the south of us. You can see the easterly flow preventing the storms moving to far north and westwards despite you can see them trying to head that way.

Small thundery shower aside on which I could not see any lightning as I have a poor view towards the west and a bit of rain on Saturday evening, not alot to report really. I can see already the grass responding to that rainfall.
