Yesterday morning/lunchtime for a time when I was outside felt like some of the most dismal July weather I've experienced for a long time. The temperatures were about 5-7'C below average widely

Happily towards afternoon and evening it brightened up but still felt on the cool side.

Today I'm expecting a large portion of the NW to stay dryish but again much cooler than average for most,

Brightening up though and Friday may well be a decent day for most with temps a touch above average and plenty of sunny spells 🙂

Chilly sunny ☀️ start to the day…

original train cancelled so catching 1135 train to Scarborough…  just awaiting Manchesterford train in glossop… sat in the warm sunshine ☀️

End of the week/weekend looking warmer and more summer like 👍 👌🤞☀️😎

Just defrosted from Leppard and Crue at the fantastic Lytham Festival on Sunday

Biting N wind stood outside in it for 7 hours  - nearly full (well half) winter gear.

Drenched Terriers yesterday - a chill breeze to venture out in today.

Away to Corfe Castle for the 9000th time this weekend the weather can do what it wants  🍺

Beach -  bucket and spade days sadly long gone.

I'm heading 'across the border' to the East coast as well, probably tomorrow and by car, as I quite often do during the summer months. I usually post 1-2 times on the Yorkshire & E England group page whilst I'm there, they're a friendly lot! Let's hope for some decent weather on the East coast over the next few days

Off to the lakes tomorrow for a few days, weather certainly looking more promising than it did a few days ago.

Its a balmy 15.6 degrees here. Hoping it warms up somewhat soon, it has been distinctly chilly.

Yes hopefully 🤞 not too bad 18-21c and going from forecasts could be warmest part of the country over the next few days… a week ago it wasn’t looking so good 😊

Both lawns cut and the shears did those awkward bits near the kick boards. Apart from a very light shower its been a usable day.

Interesting to note the unusual behaviour with the 2 fronts straddling the UK. The one over Southern Scotland is a fragmented showery band, the one over southern england a coherent strengthening one.

We've been spared rain so far today, what was looking quite a wet working week could well end up being just a rather lukewarm damp affair here.

A sunny start to the day here and rather cool overnight, down to 8.8C. A largely sunny morning and stayed dry until around an hour ago when we had a couple of hefty showers. Temp reached 20.4C around lunchtime. Definitely could have been worse today.

Well after the wet start, it’s turned into a decent day.

Dry since mid morning and increasingly sunny afterwards and as already said, it feels pretty warm.

No grass cutting for me tonight, I just hope that tomorrow is dry so I can do it then.

Torrential rain hiding the hills from a heavy shower that passed between Whaley and Buxton at around 6:50pm, surprisingly I heard thunder from this small but potent little cell.

Yeah I was just about to post area of cells developed SE of Chester now heading towards Crewe and Nantwich. A bit frustrated that all in the wrong direction for me again though.
