It even reached 16C when the sun came out. It’s a pretty nice October day.

There's a station in Greenland which is over a degree warmer than here. Another station in Svalbard was also briefly slightly warmer. Incredible.

That just says it all. Worst summer in 10 years. Well up there with the infamous 2007 and 2012!

Still to exceed 12c here. Rain/downpours/drizzle non stop for 12 hours. Without doubt one of the worst summer days in memory. ABSOLUTE AND UTTER GARBAGE. I looked at a map of Europe/Russia and Iceland earlier and only northern Iceland was colder than here. Just be thankful that we are at least matching SW Iceland at 12c. ROTTEN. ABSOLUTELY ROTTEN.

Another crap day, to add to the last 5 weeks of crap summer weather.

Cool, grey, rainy and very depressing. Not going out in that.

I will definitely reconsider and move to the med for a second home in the near future.

Hot sunny days are far better than this waste of a summer rubbish.

Wind has switched around to the north and the temp has dropped from an earlier high 19.7°C to 15°C now!

Amazed how many pages that thread has given there’s been no heat to complain about! 😅

Yep, feels distinctly cold out there now and, at last, the strong winds have arrived here.

If they could blow my neighbour's tree down, as it's in full leaf, that would be nice. The ignorant flocker has refused to manage it and cut it back for years. It now imposes on both us and our next door neighbour - about 30ft tall, almost the same wide. Blocks out evening light and high summer sun (not that we've had much this Summer🙄).

Looks like there's some agreement for notably hot weather after next week's plume at least.

I really hope there’s some warmth, as I’m off to Devon for a long weekend on the 18th to 20th.

25-30c will do nicely, but at the very least, low 20s and sunshine with no cloudy conditions.

You can rely on good old Antoni to knock it down for you👍

Or it might get struck by lightning tonight if there’s a storm.

It's sounding like it could be either average or wel above average depending on what happens after this upcoming plume.

They moaned continuously for 10 days during June about it being too hot and unbearable, dangerous, and all the rest of it

July 2023 has affected more people’s mood, it’s just fact.

I can attest ti that. My mood sank through July…

This'll probably get deleted because it's taking shots at other people's preferences, even though the same thing is happening in the "heat" haters thread too.

So be it. More an indictment on whoever deletes it…

If it’s a choice between summer 2022 or summer 2023, I would have to pick 22, despite the mid to high 30s temps.

There’s no way I can tolerate damp rainy cloudy periods of weather for too long, especially at the time of year when you expect nice hot sunny weather.

Oh definitely. No contest. I’m a heat lover too, but it was such dry heat last year it was never that uncomfortable, and the nights weren’t too bad (other than 18th/19th July).

Seems like the east coast has seen a lot of rain recently.

We had torrential rain and T &L early morning, thunderstorm woke me up at 5.15, after that we have been in that little clear bit on the radar and had no rain, 10-20 miles up the coast at Scarborough northwards, especially Whitby have had torrential rain and flooding,

Edit: its tipping it down now 🙄

Even that 40c wasn’t too bad. We loved the evening walk, even though it was 25c at 10pm. If felt like Spain and was lovely.

It's heavenly for working in...am enjoying that so much, I cannot hide that fact.  Though we do need summer for many reasons.
