March - always feels a winter month to me, despite increasing sunshine levels and daylight, probably because the countryside still looks like winter, yes early spring flowers appear but winter's coat can be difficult and slow to shake off. Not always the case 2012 an example of almost summer warmth at times, but the likes of 1996, 2001, 2006, 2010, 2013 and 2018 shows how cold it can be well into and towards latter stages still.

I'll go for a 5.9 degrees, colder than February, despite possible very cold conditions second to third week, may be difficult to sustain and southern parts could see some milder conditions, whilst the north holds onto cold. A mixed month, one to keep us on our toes, an outside chance could be notably cold, but we never seem to be able to sustain cold for upwards of 10 days or so nowadays - think December just gone.

5.4 C and 45.8 mm -- a few warmer spells perhaps but such a cold and dry start, will be fighting that to some extent second half. Sort of a weak sauce version of March 2006 perhaps.

Think it’s going to be cold not as cold as 2013 though, 3.9C and 70mm thanks. Thinking maybe most disruptive winter weather arrives in this early spring month.
