Really has been a treat driving on the M6 and seeing a nice variety of convective clouds.

Some structure showing in this picture of the storms over Notts and coming slowly towards Newark. A tiny hint of green in it but not sure the picture shows that  Thunder now regularly being heard too.

Just had another small storm here in Leicester. A few rumbles of thunder and some torrential rain.

Seems to be gaining quite a nice nose there (looking towards Newark, I'd say about over Newark infact) 

Gentle rumbling heard, some nice flashes, Top of anvil now just coming over my location.

Just been up the road to the Peak District and caught a storm.

Started off heading in the direction of Ashbourne and then northwards alongside a cell that had developed to my west. I caught it near to Newhaven and it was quite photogenic, producing the odd flash. I didn't get long before the rain and wind arrived and so jumped back in the car and shot up towards Bakewell.

I ended up going from chaser to chasee (if that's a word) as they were moving quickly and soon realised I wasn't going to stay ahead of it. At that point I saw a barn in a field, so I parked up and sheltered there (by now the storm had moved over).

The storm produced a few flashes and thunder, although as the rain was crashing down on the barn roof I didn't have the best audio of the thunder.

Saw a few CGs but only one definitely caught on camera. There was a point where I looked away and there was a big flash and boom of thunder, that could have been a CG. I'll know soon as my camera wasn't looking away.

Storm was nowhere near on the scale of yesterdays, and I didn't expect it to be, but a nice little bonus chase. I have currently surpassed all my previous years for number of storm chases by the 9th July.

Taken from Bracebridge Heath near Lincoln. Amazing structure to this storm, enjoying watching it move towards me putting out regular fork lightning!

Yes a  nice thundery shower a few loud strikes as it passed to the east.

A thunderstorm came through SE Sheffield in the last hour, seemed a bit DOA at first, but over my location it suddenly gained a second wind and had some overhead thunder and a loud gunshot thunderclap when I was in the woods. But it didn't rain heavily despite this.

Just monitoring on blitzortung and NW Extra, looks like may be a direct hit for you if it doesn't die off like last night!

Yeah that’s the worry often does that over the moors for some reason

Totally. Used to live in Saltburn and by the time it would hit it was usually not worth mentioning.

 

Very grey here now and wind is whipping up.

 

Hoping there is enough energy left to give us something decent today. 

 

Usually get a pressure headache ahead of a storm and it's kicking in too. So it bodes well. 

 

But I said that last night and wasn't impressed

That storm here earlier didn't do much, but had a decent downpour with two flashes and a few decent-ish rumbles. Gloucester cell has faded so that is it here I believe.

Well that was eventful and made up for the lack of much yesterday as I hurriedly raced up to the top of the Goyt from home after seeing the RADAR was taking the line of thundery showers more eastwards into mid-afternoon and got myself a good vantagepoint (local knowledge) overlooking the downpours across Cheshire. Some 20 minutes later the main action rolled through with CGs galore, some well within 200 meters or less.

marked gust front ahead of storm even 20 mph in my back garden, max r/f of 82.2 mm p hr but only 5.4 mm in total. One flash and crack just ene of me was fairly close
