Well that was eventful and made up for the lack of much yesterday as I hurriedly raced up to the top of the Goyt from home after seeing the RADAR was taking the line of thundery showers more eastwards into mid-afternoon and got myself a good vantagepoint (local knowledge) overlooking the downpours across Cheshire. Some 20 minutes later the main action rolled through with CGs galore, some well within 200 meters or less.

Plenty of thunder, only one bit of lightening but then an hour of rain nearly.

Couple of flashes detected to my south. Looks like something has gone up near Warwick.

Meanwhile Ireland continues to have more storms than the African monsoon season.. Just now to the East of Loch Neagh is what looks pretty clearly to me a right moving supercell on radar.

Wow incredible shots guys. Really enjoying Barcelona at the moment, but seems I missed out on 2 decent events back home. Got caught out in a thundery shower in the mountains near Manresa though with some scary loud thunder.

My friend caught a bit of lightning in Doncaster yesterday as well

Fantastic photos of the action this afternoon. This photo was taken at 15:09 today followed by heavy rain but no close c-c or c-g lightning.

Looking SW towards Stoke-on-Trent some 20 miles away and this little anvil has suddenly sprouted up from a lone cell.

I think that’s the one I can see. It has a very strange protruding shape.
