Just had a brief but intense storm pass to the west of Hulland Ward with some pea sized hail.

These storms are whipping up in no time at all. In 50 minutes the cell passing over our house went from an idea to an absolute downpour!

Yes, but only one rumble of thunder and a big downpour. As per comment just above. Pretty much right over this house.  Nothing unusual noticed other than its very rapid development. It may do more as it continues NE.

Constant thunder just to my East at the moment,the best covective day up here in the North-East for a long time.

Near constant thunder to my west now and boy is it loud. Last bang literally rattled the windows lol.

Absolute classic day of summer thundery showers today. Just had our first roll through with some decent sized hail for this part of the world. Plenty more to follow behind!

If we are going to get some poor summer weather, at least this variety is far more interesting! A smattering of bangers on the radar.

I'm at Framwellgate Moor. Constant thunder to the west of here. This is the cell that caused a brown out for me. Some big lumps of cloud about!

Yeah in town and seen it. Could be a bit of a interesting afternoon in Matlock. Not my idea to go there for a few . See which pubs can get flooded today

Most convectively active day I've seen in 3 years in the north east !    Storms fireing up constantly with continuous rumbles
