So it looks like my area is done for the evening as far as lightning is concerned, but I wouldn't rule out one or two rumble's in the early hours as there'll be a few beefy showers knocking about out in the channel

This is the shot I took earlier

Definitely a case of what could have been!

And to anyone under, or to the east of the main band of rain, it's definitely worth keeping an eye out as I've seen quite a few flashes from various cells as they were passing, hopefully it will become more organised as it keeps pushing east

Good luck folks!

Thanks and best of luck for you too, idk a random cell that pops up or something

Suspicious scud lowering going on (3rd one, though it's dark) and some mean looking clouds.

Pretty decent storm looking to hit just before lydd. Only seen a flash but radar looks alright and structure on it is beautiful. It’s got the typical storm look to it.

Loud rumbles here, lightning across the sky to our west and lights flickering. Some absolutely torrential pulses coming through.

The storm just turned night to NIGHT, I wish my camera had got a better capture of just how scary it suddenly was, then the helicopter flew right into it, spooky...

For some reason every image is darker than the originally were but here's there sequence of events that went from normal night to apocalyptic, the darkness is slightly too much because it's hard to get the shelf cloud detailing that is there.

Went to try and see anything, realised that I'm looking through a mass of rain and gave up. Oh well, I think it's onto next year for me now.

Can't see anything now either, was only two flashes about a minute apart. Storms have been weird in this spell lol, yesterday I had two storms that did exactly the same thing, two flashes about a minute apart, with thunder as I was in or just out of the heavy white rain, today, no thunder as the rain was already past.

F 7.1 which isn't too bad, I had the Iso a bit too high though

To be fair I had only seen a couple of flashes towards Poole which weren't nearly as close or as bright as the one I captured but I wasn't set up in time for them

Anyone reckon we'll see Thursday's storm named today? I'm expecting a broad sweep yellow warning to drop down later this morning. It looks like we are going to see a direct hit from a powerful Atlantic storm, with the models showing central pressure ranging from about 948 to 955mb, approximately.

Just what we needed. Another storm set to remotely mimic 1987 and Eunice. Hopefully I get the day off if it’s gonna be that bad

My company didn't give us the day off for Eunice, even though we drive high sided vehicles, and work where there are trees also. I was day off anyway, felt really bad for my colleagues working through it. I'll be day in this time round, of it hits Thursday, I can't say I'm looking forward to that.
