I was gonna post on here an hour ago about this storm as it looked very suspicious. A distinct hook and when replayed there was precip being wrapped around it. TORRO have nailed it spot on so far.

Just seen a big bolt come down over near Poole unfortunately Missed it with the camera though 

And one much further out to sea more south of Bournemouth

Sounds like you are all getting a great show. Wish i was there to see it, but i'm in Suffolk for the week so lets hope I dont miss much. Anyone know of any risk round Manningtree over the next few hours?? All the forecasts say so but i don't believe it.

We're definetely a few hours behind schedule with the main channel mass. The models have it a lot further along the line right now. There is some hope definitely.

It's stopped now and I expect this to be more of a southeast event which  is inline with other forecast that have been put out. I managed to get the bolt of lightning in frame but unfortunately it was so bright It's totally blown out the picture. I don't think there's anything to recover. Fingers crossed for something else later

I'm sat on Barton on sea cliff top and I can see that swanage has just disappeared so they must be some heavy rain out there. Hopefully a few bolts of lightning too

 At least there is still some hope for us right. Best case scenario  for me rn is a huge storm rolls right over eastbourne/bexhill. That way I could grab some photos.

Couple of decent flashes and booming thunder on the Eastern half of the IOW,hills above Ventnor.

Torrential rain now.

So it looks like my area is done for the evening as far as lightning is concerned, but I wouldn't rule out one or two rumble's in the early hours as there'll be a few beefy showers knocking about out in the channel

This is the shot I took earlier

Definitely a case of what could have been! 

And to anyone under, or to the east of the main band of rain, it's definitely worth keeping an eye out as I've seen quite a few flashes from various cells as they were passing, hopefully it will become more organised as it keeps pushing east

Is that a bow echo ( sorry I watch a lot of American streamers doing weather ) those squally winds will hit right into my house
