Totally undecided this month, so have gone midstream.

Last year I went v low, and I have been struggling ever since to catch up again.

So, as I would hate to miss a cold month entirely I will plump for  4.8C,  just below average.

Rainfall that's easier!!, with the south based jet i go for 105mms, allowing for some dryness later on,

Play it safe or take a risk... lots of uncertainty about December. All the forecasts have suggested a return to mild by the second week but how mild, perhaps close to average. We then have prospects of something colder towards the end. 2008 and 2020 spring to mind..

Will it buck the trend like last December? Im not expecting to be anywhere close to where we were on the 18th CET wise last year but im not expecting the same degree of mild that happened thereafter.

I'll go bang on 4 degrees. A cold start, a near average period from the 7th but chance it could stay cold for another week, but not as cold as the opening 7 days. A traditional mild run in to christmas, 13th year in a row!!, a cold possibly very cold last week to December.

4.1C and 95mm.

A very tricky one to call. I'm not expecting it to be close to December 2010, but the issue is that you never know if a month will be an extremely cold or extremely mild one or not until after mid month. So either take a risk or play it fairly safe and still guess for it to be on the mild or colder side. For this month I go for something chilly but not significantly so.

I think we will also break the 100mm streak of recent Decembers since 2017 but it won't be dry at the same time.

Let’s hope the cold air mass to our North East builds and forces the lows to disrupt on a Southerly jet. Looking decent for northern areas initially for snowfall. Maybe something a bit more widespread in the second half  ?

110mm, not sure that would be the wettest December since 2012, 2017-2020 were higher.
