Phone app for Wythenshawe says 3°C and fog.  Could be fog in places, clear outlook from window, can  see aircraft tail lights. It's not raining.

Early warning out for low flying toys in the Mad thread this morning as they wake up to what seems to be the start of a downgrade to the cold spell.

I just don’t know why folks get so convinced that a single cherry picked chart will end up with heavy drifting snow down their street but some just don’t learn.

At least a few dry days are on the cards which will bring welcome relief to those affected by flooding but beyond that it’s anyone’s guess and the weather will do whatever it wants, irrespective of our wishes.

Yes. Had a quick visit. Some saying it’s all a waste of time even charts at D10.
Better looking at the ensemble graph temp agreement a week or two of sustained embedded cold and watch it all disappear with a few default mild SW’s 🙂

Reporting from Wythenshawe hospital today, had 2nd operation for cancer they found Aug last year.  Prognosis is good, despite treatment I'm fine and dandy and still positive.

Got a lovely room with a view and 2 squirrels for company.  Wot no rain? It's dry outside, overcast with odd pocket of blue sky.  Should be feeling colder when I'm fit to go home.

@Kasim Awan I hope your operation goes well with a speedy recovery. My regards.

Wishing you a Speedy recovery X

With the high pressure forecast positioning, Cumbria often ends up the England cold pole!... slack N/NE airstreams mean ice days and freezing nights in much of central/ east Cumbria, Carlisle often ends up coldest english city.

Yes we were minus double digits during 2010 season, also carlisle often does quite well with snowfall from a NE or E flow

2c foggy damp… off to stalybridge to have insurance assess our house where the chimney collapsed… then Ashton for a few errands… fourth load of washing in two days on… actually managed a few hours gardening yesterday in dry sunny weather (for once in what has seemed like an age)…

Raining this morning. Just to remind us that it can defy forecasts and that any dryness achieved yesterday must ultimately be undone. Just go away for a bit!

We usually miss out here during any Cheshire gap events. Typically because it’s not cold enough, it’s decided that we must be included.

It was a fun couple of days back in 2010. This morning however, it is a dull, gloomy, moist morning. A little bit of fog is lingering, but it feels cold.

Only 5.1mm picked up this morning for the last 24hrs.  Hope that's the last for a  while.  Patches of blue shy appearing in NW.  Calm.  Temp 5.2C.

4ºC, misty, dry, cold, fresh - at long bloody last 👌🏼

Seeing as my op got cancelled on Wednesday due to a 'family emergency' (private & I've paid for the damned thing/desperate for it) I'm in a constant foul mood; but least the weather picking up and getting colder/drier has lifted my spirits

Looks a bit showery out Liverpool way and other western parts.  6°C and blue sky and sunshine streaming into my room.  My view.

Karamboa is the one we went in last January and the only criticism I have was us only going for a week.

It’s a massive hotel but spread out and right on a lovely beach and with probably the shortest airport transfer I’ve ever had.

You literally drive out of the airport gates and straight onto the hotel access road.

sure you’ll enjoy the place and get your exercise in at the same time.

Really looking forward to it, the reviews are good.We normally seek some sun in January for my Wife's birthday ,went to Antigua last year ,that was awesome, a few showers but 28-30c every day.Boa Vista should be drier if a little cooler.
