Friday suddenly throws up the prospect of some Snow on high ground. Going to be interesting too see if that disappears on the next few runs or not.

joggs Think there is a good chance of a temporary covering in the morning Pennine areas and higher ground 150m plus, maybe lower levels in places too.

Will depend on how heavy and organised the band is and if it moves through early  (E.g GFS) when it's colder or later  (e.g as per UKMO HD) when the daylight has warmed things slightly.

No Met Office warning yet, but then again , doesn't look anything more than a CM or two though so it won't cause mass distruption, they might be wise to wait until tomorrow when things are a bit clearer.

Yeah UKV isn't too bullish but the NMM looks juicy.

The true snow line around these parts is actually 300m…. So i’d expect a nice covering up there and something more temporary above 200m.

UKV has a more organised feature for East Yorkshire which could even provide lying snow to low lying areas.

Tonight's gfs confines Snow to even higher ground as air temperatures are higher and uppers slightly higher as well. Weekend for us looks dry with sunny spells at the moment.

UKV has upgraded the feature and pushed it further inland.

The PIT , I wouldn't even look at GFS right now. It all depends on the intensity and DPs. I wouldn't rule out a couple of cm at 200m+ and maybe a couple more at 300m+. Ppn line probably from North Yorkshire to the south.

A colder night than expected which should help towards any snow. However the band seems to be wweakening as it moves NE so maybe too weak to allow for cooling of the atmosphere when it arrives which would help things along.

Noticed the council is reducing it's grit stock roads caked in the stuff happens every year sometime they end up gritting when there isn't even a frost forecast.

Wow, I said we had hail yesterday, the 2 minute burst we just had was absolutely crazy, fairly sizeable.

Impressive ice build up in the drains.

The last few days have been fairly quiet weather-wise, a little rain and drizzle, but not enough to cause a problem. The winds have been calmer, and are firmly in the east today. Bearing in mind wind is the cyclists enemy its been much more pleasant. The worst field puddles are disappearing, but the ground is still very wet.

Today brought 6c with force 3-4 E winds. All over grey cloud today, with some very fine drizzle, and quite misty.
