Moderate snow here now ❄️❄️❄️

You've got some elevation there.

 The forecasted temps are maximum.

There are lots of others factors in play besides actual temps.

Certainly feels alot colder....

Wouldn't surprise me to see more showers to lower levels later into tonight..

ICON has upgraded for snow potential for tomorrow, South East. 1-3CM widely! Again this will be a nowcast situation, so wake up, check radar tomorrow and see if you're the lucky or unlucky person to get snow or not

I think after the past few winters I’m of a once bitten twice shy mindset!

Also my job is in a relatively isolated school so I’m more concerned about the knock on that even a few CM would have.

I think anywhere hilly is in with a shout. Was not expecting to see falling snow here today but it is here and has increased in intensity

Well, looks like another case of being so near, yet so far.

The Norwich snow shield holds firm for this winter so far.

Never been a fan of these types of setups as again the wind direction has to much of a southwesterly direction bearing. Same with the bfte and countless other easterlys. Unless you live on the coast or in Kent you won't see much. Bring back the 2010 easterly type I say.

I have to agree with you. I'm not going to complain if it does decide to snow but like you say, been bitten too many times even by the strongest of chances so I remain unconvinced.

Its weird as in the late 90s and early 00s your area often had several snowfalls that missed anywhere Strood Westwards quite often I remember this occurring as my dad lives in Dartford where I went to achool my aunty near you across the Medway. But about the last 15-18 years ive noticed it hardly ever happens now!

As I said yesterday, Medway towns can have different weather types, bone dry in Gillingham but places like Lordswood snowed under 😀

Like you, I'm taking it as it comes, not building any hopes up and hopefully be delighted.

A drop in temperatures will lead to snow and icy conditions in some areas of England within the next 24 hours, forecasters have said.

The Met Office has issued a new weather warning for Monday - and said that snow showers are on the way that could turn "quite heavy".

A yellow warning will come into force at 4am and states that ice and snow are likely to affect roads and train services in parts of Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East Sussex and West Sussex.

To be fair it's a 50/50 chance and based off what the people from Medway are saying, there seems to be a snow shield around you that I hadn't heard. Most models have got you under some snow but there's still a couple that miss you hence why there's no high risk for snow.  Southern parts of Medway are in with the best chance based off the models, the northern part is supposed to be in a slight risk instead but I couldn't get the drawing that accurate.

Here's a couple different model runs. Biggest problem is going to be if it settles or not though.

Let’s hope there’s a bit more of an easterly flow pushing convection inland. Hopefully this won’t be a NW Kent only event.

There’s my worries come to life! As soon as the transport slows a day working at a school becomes a write off!

Holding steady around 4.5c here this afternoon, 7.7mm of rain (if only it was snow, the rough 1mm = 1cm would have made for a nice covering!)

What time are the lower 850’s due over our area?

Snowing lightly just up the road in Bexhill apparently. Not settling but enough to wet the ground.
