Looking at the radar Maidstone and surrounding areas may get a pasting in the next half hour or so

Yes, agree Daniel.

As you can see below, those -12c 850's over the Southern North Sea Have moved away Westward, therefore the differential between the Upper Air and the body of water reduces, thereby weakening Streamer activity,

Regards,

I wouldn't rely on the models so much here, it has already proven to be different to what was expected.

exactly. So what’s wrong with it….?

If you can't see what's wrong with it, I have no reason to explain further!

Still snowing here, settling on the grass but not on the paths or roads

Need the North Sea to kick it up a notch as we are running out of time... Large clear slot behind it

Most convection will develop over the North Sea.

Met Office need to look out the b loody window! :drunk-emoji:

flurries, a few showers mainly rain sleet some snow on the hills

I always find it strange how on the forecasts they often go by what the latest model run shows rather than simply going by the radar or looking out of the bloody window.

After 4-6 hours of wasted snow, the big showers have arrived and we've been in a little streamer for the past 10-15 mins. Rapidly turned grass and greenery mostly white, but lane and paths settling very patchily at best.

Need the showers to pack in and temps/dew points to drop for this to become a more significant fall.

What do you want them to do a national broadcast every 5 minutes to give an update on the radar. Most people may check the forecast in the morning for a few minutes. They provide weather forecasts. The hint is in the name forecasts. Not a nowcast

Alright, pipe down. That's obviously not what I'm saying. There are times when they talk about current conditions or a forecast for the same part of the day that is clearly at odds with what is actually happening.

Didn't mean to word it like that apologies. I see what your saying and do agree. They can be abit slow sometimes to update stuff according to radar. But I would say if we're here watching it they likely are aswell. But practically unless your an enthusiast like us it doesn't really change much.

Well, seems we've had some somewhat sustained slightly-less-than-moderate snizzle/graupel

Better than absolutely nothing, but only because it gives me false hope that it may grow in intensity.

Proper snow again! This area usually does well if snow is forecast due to the height!
