Strongest snow of the day here now and it's laying well but it doesn't have much staying power as it melts as soon as it's stops

Now I am not exaggerating here but it’s like a blizzard here the last few minutes visibility is down to less that 100m from my office in Maidstone looking towards blue bell hill

We're getting some heavier falls now, but melts on the ground as soon as intensity drops.

It's dying out in the North Sea, so once this next lot comes through I think that will be it!

If you believe what you read in the MOD thread then from the 15th of January onwards a new ice age cometh and probably goweths a week later lol

Better start preparing now then for working from home until April. 😂

For what it’s worth, gone very grey and started snowing again here in Hailsham.

Really snowing up in Tatsfield up on the North Downs.  Won't be long before we have a covering.

Snow flurries here in Raynes Park.  3C and breezy.  It's bitter out there!

As others have said I think there might be a few more showers appearing in the North Sea as the proper cold air now arrives

It’s building nicely again in the Estuary:

That's the part I was talking about, there's nothing behind it.. Can see the clear slot approaching the North Sea from Europe

Our snow window runs until about 10pm this evening, at which point the coldest of the upper air will have moved through our region. We are peaking about now.

I guess this in part due to losing the deep-12 uppers as the pass through.. same this happened during the daytime

Looks like this has headed to Brighton now.  3rd time lucky!  Previous snow had melted on rooftops but still a dusting on the grass.

This is more like it though.  Fat flakes flying!  Lovely.  I'm going to say these in terms of size are a good 5/10 on the SM scale - just needs to be a little heavier but getting there 😄

I attempted to feed the house sparrows, Robins and Starlings some meal worms and give them fresh water but some greedy Magpies scarfed them down first (as per).  It's all going on!

The radar returns are not slowing up over the north sea, if anything the blobs are getting bigger.

I expect the gaps in cloud on satellite to new filled as they go over the north sea and approach the UK later
